THIRD ANNUAL KEYPORT COMMUNITY DAY SPELLED SUCCESS STORY susAn MurpHy

eyport’s third annual Community Day was held on March 31 at Keyport High School and included music, entertainment, informational booths about the town’s diverse organizations, and school program displays by the students of Keyport High School and Keyport Central School. Most of the organizations who had a table offered pamphlets and free giveaways to visitors. Castle of Dreams Animal Rescue had two dogs in search of homes and spoke with many visitors about becoming foster families to the animals. Keyport Public Library displayed books and gave away small craft packages. Troop Leader Frank Wroblewski of Cub Scout Troop #364 and his son Nicholas explained the scouting program and what their troop does throughout the year. They meet on Monday nights at 7:00 p.m. at Keyport Middle School. Members of the troop joined Keyport Kiwanis Club members in the kitchen to serve hot dogs and hamburgers. Meridian Fitness and Wellness discussed the pluses of joining their facility and assisted some visitors in learning a few basic stretches. Keyport Food Pantry welcomed food donations.
