It hardly seems like there was a winter, yet, as I write this, there is more snow in the forecast than we have seen for the entire year. Such is life in Minnesota, I guess. But, I promise we don't have our catalogs flipped and that this is, in fact, the spring catalog.

We hope you find something you can look forward to attending. We have some exciting things in store for the spring and summer including several theater opportunities, a natural product workshop, several sports workshops no matter the athletic interest and culinary delights for all ages! This class is for the mature driver for tips on staying a safe driver as we age (55 and older). You might have an anxious attachment style. Anxious, Avoidant, and Secure/Healthy are the three primary ways that most people connect and relate.

This group will explore contemporary attachment theory as it can be applied to personal friendships, professional connections, or love relationships.

GENERAL INTEREST | ADULT ESTATE PLANNING WALK THROUGH Instructor: Summer Young Attorney's Summer Young and Lauren Peavehouse will lead you through key factors to drafting and personalizing wills, a power of attorney, and preparing health care directives, as well as explaining important tax law issues as it surrounds your estate. The first meeting will be an overview of your will, some key tax laws you should know and the second meeting will address the very important health care directive and power of attorney documents. MINDFULNESS MEDITATION | 18+ Instructor: Mary Jo Meadow Adults of all ages are welcome to join Mindfulness Meditation - the ancient method of self-understanding and self-management. It is widely used for handling pain and stress, habit control and dealing with painful emotions and disturbing thoughts. It leads to deep self-knowledge and self-management skills that make life richer. The content of the practice is simply our own experiences of body and mind with no ideology. The toning sticks function like dumbbells to act as resistance weights. TAI JI QUA, MOVING FOR BETTER BALANCE | 55+ Instructor: Jose Zepeda Tai Ji Quan: Moving for Better Balance® (TJQMBB) is a research-based balance training regimen designed for older adults at risk of falling and people with balance disorders.

Although its origin can be traced to the contemporary simplified 24-form Tai Ji Quan routine, TJQMBB represents a significant paradigm shift in the application of Tai Ji Quan, moving the focus from its historical use as a martial art or recreational activity to propagating health by addressing common, but potentially debilitating, functional impairments/deficits.

DIVIDING PERENNIALS | 14+ Instructor: Sue Kirchner Most perennial plants need to be divided every 3 to 5 years to rejuvenate the plant. It is also an opportunity to expand the plant material available for your gardens without spending a dime. This course reviews the when, how, why and potential dangers associated with dividing plants. The course also identifies the optimum time for division of various plants and includes information on which plants should never be divided.

A parent-child paint date is a fun and creative activity that allows parents and children to bond while exploring their artistic side together.

Rain barrels harvest rainwater from roofs and other structures that can then be used to water gardens, lawns, and potted plants. Participants will learn the ins and outs of rain barrels, site selection, and other tips to use rain barrels most efficiently. PLANT PROPAGATION | 14+ Instructor: Sue Kirchner The creation of new plants can occur by planting seeds, dividing perennials or by taking cuttings from plants and rooting them. This course provides an overview of seed and division propagation. The majority of time will focus on green/soft tissue cuttings.

Our aquatic facility includes a 25 meter wide by 25 yard long eight lane main pool.

Water depth ranges from 3'6" to 12' Air temperature is 83-85 degrees Water temperature is 82-84 degrees The main pool includes an attached diving well of 12' depth with two one-meter springboards.

We have a separate 10' x 20' wading pool designed for infants and preschoolers.

YOUTH SUMMER SWIM LESSONS Summer Swim lessons dates have not been released.

Bring your child and their friends to celebrate a birthday at the Community Pool! There will be staff on site to assist with check in, set up and tear down of the gym. Birthday hosts should plan for light clean up of party and refreshment areas. Parental supervision is required.

All food and refreshments are provided by the hosting birthday party group.

Birthday groups will have use of the pool for 1 hour with 1 hour reserved pool lobby space for cake and refreshments (provided by the family). Lifeguard and additional aquatic staffing will be provided and 2 adults must be present for the duration of the party.

Cost is $190 for 10 kids - additional $5 per child with a 15 child max.

BOOKS ACROSS OUR PARKS Books Across Our Parks is a local initiative building Little Free Libraries to support early childhood literacy. Each Little Free Library contains books for children ages 0- 5th grade.

Locations include Moberg Park, Paradise Park, Lindstrom Beach Park, Lions Park, Morning Sun Park, The Swedish Immigrant Trail Head in Shafer and inside the Wildcat Community Center.

Our goal in developing Books Across Our Parks is to support a child’s lifelong love of learning. Storytime creates an experience of connection and fun between a child and their parent or caregiver and supports this positive learning journey.

This initiative was led by the Chisago Lakes Early Literacy Project, Elevate Builders, Chisago Lakes Community Education, grant funding provided by the Chisago Lakes Area Community Foundation, along with support from the Chisago City and Lindstrom Parks Commission.

LITTLE WILDCATS PRESCHOOL 2024-2025 LITTLE WILDCATS PRESCHOOL | AGE 3-5 Little Wildcats Preschool is designed to prepare children and families for the transition to kindergarten. We focus on prereading, writing, and communication skills, number awareness and social skills.

Help Me Grow provides resources for families to look at development milestones, to learn if there are concerns, and to take the lead in seeking additional support or in referring their child for a comprehensive, confidential screening or evaluation at no cost.

Minnesota children from birth to 5 years, if found eligible, can receive services in their home, child care setting or school. These services are free regardless of income or immigrant status.

KIDS CLUB | CHILD CARE 2024 SUMMER Summer care is offered for children who have completed Preschool and are 5 years old through completed Grade 5.

Activities include: arts and crafts, gym time, outdoor activities, field trips and more!

Summer Kids Club runs from June 17 - August 16.

K-5 program is open from 6:00am - 6:00pm and is offered at Lakeside Elementary and Taylors Falls Elementary.

The Preschool program is open from 7:00am - 5:00pm and is only offered at Lakeside Elementary.

Kids Club is closed July 3-5.

CHILD CARE | KIDS CLUB 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR Kids Club is a Preschool and School Age childcare program that provides high quality services that will grow with your child. We work to offer a variety of activities to engage all students.

Program activities include arts and crafts, active play, building relationships and friendships, and developing social skills.

Kids Club offers flexible scheduling options to meet the needs of your family!

Kids Club is proud to offer a companion child care program to our Little Wildcats Preschool schedule. All children entering our program must be enrolled in Little Wildcats Preschool and are 4 years old as of September 1 of the current school year (i.e.

Must be 4 years old on or before September 1, 2024 for the 2024-25 school year).

Before and after school care is offered for children in Kindgergarten through Grade 5. We are also open for Adventure days (select non-school days). Activities inlude: arts and crafts, gym time, ourdoor activities and more. Adventure Days activities include both onsite and offsite activities.

YOUTH | GENERAL INTEREST 3D PRINTING AND CAD | GR. 2-6 Instructor: Tech Academy This camp takes students through the 3D printing process from start to finish. Students will design 3D objects using TinkerCAD and use the 3D slicing program Cura to bring their creations to life. Henna is temporary body art resulting from the staining of the skin from the dyes. DRIVERS EDUCATION

Chisago Lakes Community Education and Right Away Driving School are teaming up to provide the service in greater detail to the Chisago Lakes Area. The class will be held right here on the CLHS campus in the Lecture Hall. Here are the parameters of the course.

30 HOURS OF CLASS: Students under 18 must complete 30 hours of in class instruction before they are able to take the permit test. Once the 30 hours of classroom is complete RAD will issue a “Blue card”. Students will take the blue card to the DMV as proof of course completion in order to take the permit test.

Once your child passes the permit test at the DMV they can drive with someone over the age of 21.

Our Advanced Tennis CLINIC will be a special clinic catering specifically to students who have already played on either their varsity or JV teams in high school (or, for 7th graders, are pre-approved by the coaches*). The 1-1/2 hour clinic will be divided up into 2 sections: approximately the first ½ hour will be used to go over a specific skill (groundstrokes, volleys, serves, etc.) and then the last hour will be used for assigned matchplay.

They will also be shown actual game tactics and gamesmanship while participating in matchplay. This approach will thus give students some training coupled with real play. TRIPS & EVENTS | YOUTH WHEELS, WHEELS, WHEELS | ALL AGES Parents and children will be able to see, touch, and climb in, on, and around a variety of vehicles! Everything from firetrucks and ambulances to buses and backhoes and everything in-between. We've even been known to bring in a crane! There's something for everyone. 5TH GRADE FUN NIGHT | GR. 5 Join us for an evening filled with tons of activities! It's scheduled the same day as your child's transition day to the Middle School and this will make it a great way to end the day! Your 5th grader will get oriented with their new school and begin building new friendships as they meet new faces from Lakeside, Taylors Falls, and homeschoolers. Sign them up today!

CELEEBRATE WITH US Bring your child and their friends to celebrate a birthday at the Wildcat Community Center or Community Pool!

Play games in the gym, have a nerf party or swim in the pool! There will be staff on site to assist with check in, set up and tear down of the gym. Birthday hosts should plan for light clean up of party and refreshment areas. Parental supervision is required. All food and refreshments are provided by the hosting birthday party group.

WCC BIRTHDAY PARTIES Gym games and activities include: basketball, volleyball, pickleball, dodgeball, soccer, hula hoops or nerf games (participants must bring their own blasters). Party package includes private Community Room rental and 1 court for up to 2 hours.

Cost is $190 per party.

POOL BIRTHDAY PARTIES Birthday groups will have use of the pool for 1 hour with 1 hour reserved pool lobby space for cake and refreshments (provided by the family). Lifeguard and additional aquatic staffing will be provided and 2 adults must be present for the duration of the party.

Cost is $190 for 10 kids - additional $5 per child with a 15 child max.
