THE VOICE OF PUMBA
INTRODUCTION

For any institution, it is crucial to have a smooth communication with a lot of clarity to the outer world. It is of utmost importance to showcase various college activities and what the college stands for the students, to the world. The more engagement the college gets through these activities, the more interest it generates amongst the different communities of the society.
At PUMBA, the Communication Cell is responsible for being that medium to showcase the college’s potential to the world. This is done through their constant hard work through the various official social media handles and the other activities of the college. Communication Cell realizes its responsibilities and works towards them throughout the year. The Cell comprises of 13 core members who have different responsibilities towards the activities of the cell.
The motto of the Cell is “Create. Connect. Collaborate” , whereby, each and every member of the cell strives towards staying true to the essence of the motto. Our Cell functions under the guidance of Dr. B. V. Sangvikar Sir. With his constant help and support, the cell has been successfully completing its events and tasks.
Referred to as the Brand Managers of the esteemed brand PUMBA, the cell ensures that PUMBA is seen and heard at the right time and at the right places so that the various stakeholders of the institutestudents, faculty, applicants, and alumni can achieve maximum leverage. It manages the online publicity, communications, and publications - internal & external of PUMBA and serves as the official representative of the institute.
PUMBA NEXUS: It is the magazine of the Department of Management Sciences, PUMBA whereby Communication Cell encourages the people within the institute to send in their opinions on various topics related to the different aspects of life. Each year, we come up with a theme and have PUMBAites write on various topics ranging from Business Management to Arts and display their talents in various forms in the magazine. The contributors of NEXUS include students, PUMBA faculty, alumni, and industry experts.
Nukkad Pe Charcha (NPC): The word “Nukkad” that generally means the corner of the street, is the place where most of the fun and exciting conversations happen. Having this idea in mind, the communication cell came up with a fun initiative to discuss and debate about various current topics in an informal way. NPC provides the people of PUMBA to voice out their opinions and give them a chance to display their creativity and innovation. It is the Flagship event of Communication Cell.
PUMBA WEBSITE: A website is very necessary for today’s day and age, as it helps in increasing the awareness of the brand, at the same time, helps people in connecting with the institute. Hence, in order to increase the visibility of the institute the responsibility of handling the PUMBA website has been granted to the Communication Cell.
Social Media: Since Communication Cell is responsible for maintaining the image of PUMBA, various social media sites like Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn are managed by the Communication Cell. The main work is to promote to the outside world and maintain the brand PUMBA. These handles help to exhibit the various activities held in the institute and the accomplishments of the people of PUMBA.
B-Quizitive: It is an online Quiz competition organized by the Communication Cell on the D2C platform. Management students from various institutes pan India, participate in the quiz to test their knowledge and try their hand at winning the competition. So far, there have been 3 editions of the quizzes organized by the cell. The theme was different and the questions are based upon that particular theme.

The Alumni Relations Cell aims to connect, inform, and engage with the alumni, the students, and the institute to generate multifaceted support for PUMBA. The cell plays the most crucial role in recognising the institute’s esteemed alumni for the laurels that they have achieved. The cell has continuously worked towards enhancing the relationships with the alumni and expanded our existing alumni database. The very reason for our existence is to maintain a healthy relationship with our alumni and to help them reach their full potential. We are standing strong at 6100+ registrations on our alumni portal, with more than 5500 LinkedIn connections and an extensive database of over 9000 alumni. The Alumni Relations Cell is headed by our coordinators: Vaibhav Chithore and Tahura Makandar. They can be called the captains of the ship as they coordinate all the cell activities and everything that goes around in the background. The coordinators coordinate with every team and vertical, managing every task in the cell. They help the cell in keeping all the activities on track with cross-team coordination and ensure that we achieve our goals within the stipulated time. The Alumni Relations Cell has a wide range of engagement activities for its alumni to stay connected and share their experiences with the students.
EVENTS
Chapter meet: A chapter meet is a formal meet conducted by the cell for the alumni. Such meets are generally organized in Pune, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Bangalore. This was the first year where we conducted an International chapter meet with a theme of "Meet and Greet" , our first step in nurturing our relationships with our internationally settled alumni. These meets are organized to give these alumni a platform to form connections with other alumni in their region and share their experiences in corporate life. With everything running virtually since the pandemic, we arranged this meet online, showing the adaptability of cells and their efforts to achieve their objectives by any means.
Nostalgia: Nostalgia is an informal alumni meeting where alumni revitalize their kinship of years and flourish them. It is an event that helps them realize that they are a part of PUMBA and will forever be a part of PUMBA. The entire campus glows with a splendid charm where we welcome our alumni from all over the world to relive their life at PUMBA. SMRITI Yearbook: So to collect all the rays and spread the sunshine, Smriti-The Yearbook is designed by the cell and given as a passing moment to every student who completes their journey at PUMBA. This book is given as a token for them to remember all the memories they have made in the department. Smriti is designed by the juniors as a token of their love for the seniors to recollect the magical days at PUMBA for life. Reminiscence: Reminiscence is one of the most memorable days at PUMBA, which is a gettogether meant exclusively for the batch that has completed 20 years of being an alumnus. The cell works collectively in order to remember the batch who have completed their glorious years in corporate life. This event serves as a remembrance of the alumni that the department remembers and respects. Alumni Driven Meet: Alumni Driven Meet is an event organized for the alumni by the alumni. The cell helps their alumni promote and coordinate the event. Such events are conducted in Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Bangalore. It is a semi-formal interaction between their alumni to revive their experiences. The Alumni Relations Cell also organizes sessions where alumni impart their pearls of wisdom through various insight sessions and panel discussions. These sessions are attended by the students where they can get a reality check of the things expected in corporate life. This year, we also launched our pilot Alumni Talks series, in which our esteemed alumni come to share their experiences with PUMBA, their journey in the corporate world, and how the education provided by the department assisted them in achieving their goals. These alumni talk sessions were done in order to commemorate our golden jubilee year. The Alumni Relations Cell lives by the motto "They Inspire, We Aspire. " The cell thrives by maintaining relationships with its alumni. Working cohesively towards bridging the gap between its alumni, the students, and the institute through all the events and activities mentioned above.

THE SPIRIT OF PUMBA

INTRODUCTION
The Cultural Cell is responsible for the most crucial events organized by the students’ body of PUMBA. The main objective of the cultural cell is to organize events showcasing the hidden talents and passions of students besides their regular studies. Cultural cell tries to teach and sustain social values and develop various arts and skills among the students. Many events organized and participated under Cultural cell boost Inter-personal skills like leadership, time management, organizing ability, and problem-solving. Through all this, the students ultimately develop a well-groomed personality which enables them to make their bright future.

Core Team
Plan and schedule all the events of the cultural cell for the academic year. Communicating with faculty coordinators about the event and its execution. Coordinating with all the team members to create an effective strategy and plan the course of action.
PR & Promotion Head
They are involved in creating content for social media handles. Coordinating between different cells of college for proper flow of information. Formulation of strategy for the promotion of the event.
Admin & Finance Head
The Admin & Finance Head is responsible for overall financial management, including budgeting and monitoring expenditures. They are also responsible for delegating responsibilities to the best-equipped for each duty and delegating tasks appropriately.
Inventory Head
Inventory Head is accountable for controlling and managing the inventory required for the events held by the cultural cell. Coordinating and managing finance to maintain inventory along with the finance head.
Management Head
Select a suitable platform for the events by analyzing different perspectives. Management of the event from scratch to end.
Cultural Head
Responsible for managing the cultural events throughout the year. It involves coming up with the idea and framework for the cultural events and creating the rulebook to final day execution.
Creative Head
Generating ideas and themes for the respective events. Creating posters and digital content for the events. Formulation of the promotional videos and images as per the timelines.
Sports Head
They arrange and manage all the sports events for college students be it an online or offline event. To provide the necessary infrastructure for sports events and to properly maintain the sports equipment throughout the year.
EVENTS
The cultural cell is the soul of PUMBA and being true to name it has organized various cultural events in online mode so that students of PUMBA can still showcase their skills and talents. Following are events organized by cultural cell PUMBA –Ad-Zone – It is a new heaven for digital marketing enthusiasts, where participants had shown their skills in brand positioning, cinematography, video creation, and content creation. Participants had to choose a product or service to create advertisements that should be innovative, create product awareness and have a mass appeal. Game of Brands – This thrilling and exciting event incorporates three rounds that will test awareness and knowledge about the logos, audio/visual, and taglines of the company. Tradarket – This is the event where participants had to use their analytical, management, and risktaking abilities to become the "Bull and Bear" of the Stock market. Participants had to invest 1 lakh rupees (virtual money) in different instruments to get the maximum return on the investment.

INTRODUCTION
Entrepreneurship Development (ED) cell is one of the pillars of PUMBA, where we inspire the entrepreneurial spirit amongst students and encourage them to have a different perspective on things. We are committed to fostering this spirit year after year through our various events, seminars, and business competitions.
ED Cell gives you the exposure and the platform to grow your knowledge and hone your skills through our various initiatives; be it event management, communication, content creation, leadership, team management, public relations, database management, start-up events, collaboration with other start-up centers.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
With dreams in our mind and passion in our veins, the ‘Entrepreneurship Development cell’ at the Department of management sciences, (SPPU) Pumba, Pune, is always enthusiastic to motivate students by carrying out various entrepreneurial activities and events. The primary goal of this cell is to create a long-term platform that assists PUMBA students in creating businesses, displaying their abilities and structuring their thoughts in the less-explored area of entrepreneurship, and therefore realizing and transforming their ideas into reality. This year brought with it a variety of fresh events and unique concepts.
EVENTS
THE GAME OF PERSPECTIVES: It is an event that focuses on imbibing principles of business into students through a case study competition. It focuses on developing mindset and skills and understanding toolsets which are key principles of every business start-up and MBA student.
E-DAY: Entrepreneurship Day (E-Day) is an inter-division competition that tests the student’s abilities as to how they can be better entrepreneurs of tomorrow. The aspiring entrepreneurs from 1st year pitch their one-day business ideas to the 2nd year students (investors) through elevator pitch and obtain funds for executing their ideas.
YUKTI: It provides a platform for potential ideas and early-stage start-ups to evaluate their plan in the risk-free environment of a competition. It also aims to bridge the gap between ideas and the realization of an enterprise.
MOVIES N MORE: It is a fresh initiative where movies, which are training oriented are screened to help students educate themselves through discussions post-movie. Apart from this we also have PUMBA entrepreneur meets and corporate and knowledge tie-ups.
INK IT: It is an article writing competition for Embark. Articles based on the entrepreneurship world were written by the participants. The best articles got a chance to feature in Embark magazine.
ED-GYAN: It is a time-based quiz competition. It has twisted questions based on start-ups and the entrepreneurial world. It is conducted on the D2C platform.
EMBARK: It is a magazine that included intriguing articles from students and faculty members of PUMBA. It provides short and crisp interactions with the leading entrepreneurs from the industry.
FRIDAY FOCUS: It is a weekly newsletter to get a gist of start-up stories, entrepreneurial news, success stories of young businessmen, and many more.

The Placement & Corporate Relations Cell of the Department of Management Sciences, Savitribai Phule Pune University (PUMBA), is entirely operated and managed by a dedicated force of 15 students. The Cell acts as a bridge between the industry and the Department with the primary objective of nurturing a long-lasting and mutually beneficial relationship with the corporate world. The Cell acts as a facilitator to provide the right opportunities for the students at PUMBA. The Placement Cell plays a critical role in training and upskilling the students for the various opportunities for Live Projects, Summer Internships, and Final Placements. The Placement Cell is goal-oriented, focused, and never misses to raise the standards higher and higher, year after year.
Roles & Responsibilities
The Cell maintains an extensive database of corporate connections and is in contact with each of them. This facilitates a better understanding of the industry's expectations and criteria and helps to meet them. These interactions enable the Department to organize various developmental events such as seminars, workshops and meets with other student bodies. The Cell is responsible for ensuring that each student undergoing campus placement follows the Department's Campus Recruitment Program (CRP) Policy. The Cell approaches organizations for recruitments, keep a detailed record of the students' qualifications, organizes various training and development events, and assists recruiters with logistical support so that the process runs smoothly.
Activities :
The Placement Cell conducts the following major activities: 1.MasterClass The Management Masterclass Series was initiated in 2020 to provide industry-aligned guidance to the students. Hosted by the Placement Cell, Management Masterclass is a session for students in which prominent industry leaders are invited to share their thoughts on Business Management. They throw some light on industry insights and what can be expected from future managers to keep abreast with the new required skill set. Taking this initiative forward, for the current batch of MBA 2020-22, we were pleased to host as many as 11 guest speakers are currently working at higher management positions like Chief Category Officer, Managing Director, Product Head, VP & Country HR Head, Director, Chief Rating Officer from organizations like Pepperfry, Bharti Airtel, BDO, EY, Landor & Fitch, C-DAC, PwC, Berkadia.
2. Summer & Final Placements
The Placement and Corporate Relations Cell is responsible for getting companies on board for the summer internship program for the entire batch. Summer Internship helps students gain first-hand corporate exposure and companies that offer SIP get a look at new talent and try to create value for their firm. The Placement Cell tirelessly endeavors to help the students at PUMBA to put their best foot forward while stepping into the corporate world.
3. Training & Skill Development
The Placement Cell plays a significant role in training the students, enabling them to gain skills useful for the placements and the subsequent corporate journey. The Cell provides the framework for training the batch in Resume Building, Group Discussions, Debates, Interviews and other practices followed by the industry for recruitment which enables the students to meet the criteria and expectations set by them. The Cell puts in efforts in grooming the students, not only in their chosen discipline but also broadening their horizons, thus equipping them with all qualities to make them an asset to whichever institute/organization they may join.

INTRODUCTION:
The placement cell, the most distinguished of all cells, ensures the integrity of student activities by giving the most to the driving force behind these activities, a desire for a promising career motivated by our own pursuit of greatness. The cell serves as a link between industry and the department, with the primary goal of cultivating a long-term, mutually beneficial relationship with business in order to connect the right students with the right jobs. The cell keeps track of a growing list of corporate connections and maintains strong ties with each one of them. This not only helps us understand the industry's requirements and expectations, but it also helps us meet them because these encounters help us organize various developmental activities such as seminars and workshops and meets, in coordination with other student bodies.

Roles & Responsibilities:
The Cell is responsible for Summer Internships and the Placement Recruitment Procedure for the batch. The Cell has to ensure that each student undergoing placements through the campus complies with the Campus Recruitment Program (CRP) Policy as laid down by the Department. The Cell approaches organizations for recruitment, maintains an extensive record of the students’ qualifications, conducts various training and development activities, and provides logistical support to the recruiters to seamlessly conduct their process. PUMBA has managed to achieve above-par placements year after year, with the objective of achieving greater heights.

FACE OF PUMBA

INTRODUCTION
The Seminar Cell is one of the oldest cells in PUMBA, also known as the face of PUMBA. It is responsible for organizing and conducting a series of workshops, guest lectures, and day seminars/webinars and helps in connecting students with the top-level management. Our Vision is to ensure that the journey serves us two principal purposes. Firstly, the learning curve of our students should be steep and there should be a perceptible difference in terms of knowledge gained. Secondly, the students should be afforded an opportunity to interact with some of the leading businessmen and women in their fields to familiarize them with contemporary issues facing the corporate sector. Thus, we initiate panel discussions and expert opinions of industry stalwarts of various fields from time to time. At the same time, our events incorporates best global practices based on daily feedback from various business leaders as well.

Roles & Responsibilities
The Seminar Cell organizes and conducts events such as the National Seminar, Corporate Ensemble, Achievers, HR Rendezvous, Induction (MBA++ , MBA PBT & MBA Exec), Workshops and Guest lectures. A wide range of seminars and workshops are conducted, which incorporates best global practices based on daily feedback from various business leaders. Every young professional stepping into his or her career needs to take cognizance of these factors and develop a solid grounding in the domain theoretically to apply solutions pragmatically when required to do so.

The Seminar Cell conducts the following significant activities:
1. ANUPREKSHA INDUCTION PROGRAM
Induction is an activity that Seminar cell conducts for every new batch to orient them towards the college, course, and campus. It is a foundation course for all newcomers that consists of talks by the Head of department, faculty, alumnus, guest talks by industry stakeholders from society. This induction activity is conducted for new batches of MBA++(general), MBA PBT, MBA Executive.
2. NATSEM / GLS
National Seminar, fondly known as NATSEM, is our Annual Flagship event. It grants a single platform to numerous prominent global industry leaders who share their distinct perspectives, insights, and experiences through panel discussions and guest sessions. Due to Covid 19 pandemic, in the last 2 years, we have been conducting this event online as Global Leadership Summit. The awe-inspiring leadership principles learned in this event equip the students with practical skills that they can apply right away.
3. BUSINESS CONCLAVE
A business conclave is an event that provides a platform for thought-provoking discussions on pertinent new topics. It lets you ponder over real-world business scenarios and stimulate meaningful discussions.
4. CHAT WITH HR/GUEST TALKS
In Chat with HR, we invite our HR alumni positioned at the senior management level. The alumnus shares their insights and trains students to tackle tricky interview questions in this event. Overall, it is a grooming session for students from HRs themselves. It also facilitates and encourages HRs to exchange experiences, ideas, and practices from their own companies, thus enabling them to broaden the perspectives of an individual. We also conduct insightful seminars and workshops wherein delegates engage in practical exercises and share their expertise with curious students. Seminars not only serve to provide a great deal of practical information but also provide a morale boost.
EYE OF PUMBA

INTRODUCTION
Photography Club is the Eye of PUMBA. The Club and its members, build photographers amongst students through the public display of photography through social media. The Club also provides an outlet for the expression of creativity and the sharing of skills and experiences of students and club members.

INTRODUCTION
Driven by social compassion and a sense of responsibility, PUMBA's Helping Hands started in 2015. It is a student-led initiative. Despite having all the cells that professionally groomed PUMBA students, the department lacked a platform where students could give something back to society; PUMBA's Helping Hands has tried to fill this gap with its work. Since its inception, the PHH Club has arranged various social events. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
PHH Head – PHH members report every detail to the PHH Head. PHH Head is responsible for initiating any event till accomplishing it. To play the role of all responsibilities of PHH as per need. External Collaborators – To deal with the third party (NGO or institute) for the collaboration for different activities of the PHH. EVENTS
Pumba's Helping Hands Club was highly active during tough covid times when everything went online. The PHH Club has initiated lots of events –
Chain of Helping hands – It is a unique activity arranged by the team & the primary purpose is to contribute individually in any social activity & capture the moments on mobile & share it on PHH social media.
Awareness programme for the LGBTQ community – We have created a real situational video on the
LGBTQ community & uploaded it to all social media handles and personal social media. The primary purpose of this activity is to spread awareness about giving equal opportunities to everyone, including
LGBTQ.
Mental health session – The drastic shift in the living style & sudden adoption of technology was very tough to digest in the initial lockdown stage. PHH Club addressed the issues of students about mental stress & arranged a mindful stress awareness session with Dr Hemant Sonanis, Psychiatrist &
