WHAT IF YOUR DOCTOR WERE TO SAY TO YOU:

“Congratulations, I HAVE GREAT

NEWS...

There is a way to treat your back or neck pain without having to undergo surgery. This FDA cleared technology is non-invasive, pain free and drug free. There are no needles or anesthesia. It can be done on an outpatient basis and it has proven to be very successful. Thousands of patients have been treated successfully using this technique. And the cost of the treatment is a fraction of what you would pay if you were to undergo surgery. In fact, it is probably significantly less than or equal to the out of pocket expenses if surgery was deemed necessary.”

This scientific discovery is called Non-surgical Spinal Decompression and it is available at Albrecht Chiropractic / West Michigan Spinal Decompression. It is considered a viable and reliable alternative to surgery in many cases. This unique procedure is becoming widely regarded as the most efficient way and cost-effective approach to treating herniated discs, spinal stenosis, disc degeneration, and sciatica. It is a pain free procedure designed to relieve pressure that builds up on the discs and nerves.

WHY MANAGE PAIN WHEN YOU COULD LIVE PAIN FREE?

We see patients who have tried various alternatives to manage their pain such as purchasing a new mattress, exercise therapy or pain medications because they think there is a possibility that their pain will go away over time and their condition will resolve on its own. If the pain that you are experiencing is due to muscle strain or stress, then these types of therapies may work for you. But if you suffer from chronic and severe back or neck pain due to disc related conditions of the spine, then it is highly likely that your condition will require a more aggressive disc procedure.

WHAT IS A DECOMPRESSION SESSION LIKE?

Typical patients find spinal decompression to be a relaxing, painless procedure that in most cases can be completed in a few weeks on an outpatient basis. The procedure is performed with the patient fully clothed and is safe, painless and extremely effective. In fact, it is not uncommon for patients to fall asleep during the procedure. Each session has a cumulative effect designed to significantly reduce pain and improve function as patients progress through the decompression program.

WEST MICHIGAN

How Does Decompression Work?

Non-surgical Spinal Decompression is a pain free procedure designed to relieve pressure that builds up on the discs and nerves. As pressure builds inside the disc it causes bulging of the gelatinous material inside the disc. This jellylike tissue can be placed under so much pressure that it can cause the annulus, or outer band of the disc, to rupture. When the disc has ruptured or ‘herniated’, it may create pressure against one or more of the spinal nerves which can cause pain, weakness or numbness in the neck or back that can radiate into the legs or arms. Non-surgical Decompression creates negative pressure within the disc, causing the herniation to be drawn slowly back into the disc space, thus relieving the pressure, as it rehydrates the disc. Midway through the treatment protocol, the formation of Collagen begins to take place in and around the disc. These ‘sticky’ cells have the ability to form other cells including chondroblasts or baby cartilage cells. These cells help the disc to heal.

Pain Relief Without Risky Side Effects

When you’re in pain getting the right treatment is what’s most important. We will design a comprehensive treatment program that focuses on your specific condition utilizing the latest technological advancements in Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression, core strengthening, and pain relieving therapies. Our goal is to treat the source of your pain, so that you can get back to living a normal and pain free life again!

I am a senior citizen who likes to stay active, but last summer I fell and ran my head into a steel garage door and received severe neck pain. I had an MRI taken and they found several damaged discs in my neck. I have also had trouble with lower back pain and numbness in my toes for the past several years and an MRI of that area showed multiple damaged discs in my low back as well. I went to several Dr.’s and specialists with each of them taking weeks or months to schedule me and then even longer to get any results and none of them had any answers for my pain. They just talked and talked. I then went to Laser and Spine Institute in Cleveland and had appointments scheduled to have laser spine surgery for both my neck and low back which was going to cost me well over $25,000 out of pocket. That’s when my daughter asked me why I didn’t see a chiropractor that went to her church. I said I didn’t believe in Chiropractors. She said what would it hurt to just go talk to him at least? I agreed to try it. I decided to make an appointment with Albrecht Chiropractic Office PC and got in within a matter of days. After talking to them and having x-rays taken, they found one leg to be shorter than the other and we decided to try a treatment. After that first treatment my feet were better. Then they told me about spinal decompression as an alternative to the surgery for both my neck and low back. It was only a fraction of the cost so I decided to try it. Now I am 100% pain free in both my back and neck. I feel the best that I have in years. I don’t like to eat my words, but I am now a firm believer of chiropractic and Dr. Darl and Dr. Seth Albrecht. I would recommend this office to anyone with back or neck pain. - Larry

“WHEN

THINGS GO WRONG”

otsego seventh-day adventist church growing inward growing outward growing upward 218 S. Farmer Street, Otsego Learn

You’re Welcome

Jesus had a habit of eating with people who were considered shady and slutty, namely tax collectors and prostitutes. Back then, the most important thing about sharing a meal was not what you ate but who you ate with. Eating with someone was the equivalent of saying, “I approve of you, and you are my friend.” This is why the holy roller Pharisees accused Jesus of being “a friend of sinners”- because he ate with them. Jesus didn’t see that nickname as an insult but as his mission. He was a friend to the down and out, ostracized, rejected, and marginalized. In a religious culture that kicked broken hurting people (the shady, slutty, and sickly) to the curb, Jesus offered all people a loving hospitable welcome.

Any church that calls itself “Christian” will do the same. This is intensely important to me. When I first walked into a church at the age of 18, I was a mess. My parents and I were new in our recovery from addiction. It was obvious we weren’t the churchgoing type. But we knew we needed God to do for us what we couldn’t do for ourselves. So, we went to church. To say we were “rough around the edges” is an understatement. We must have looked like the Sopranos (but poor) walking into church. We reeked of cigarette smoke, poverty, and shame. We still used colorful language because we didn’t know any better.

Life had kicked the dignity right out of us. Yet, that congregation made us feel welcome and wanted. When we walked into church we were greeted with hugs and handshakes. People wanted to get to know us. They invited us to meals and other events. We mattered. The loving hospitable welcome we received in that church was used by God to lift our heads that were hung in shame, to give us the dignity that comes from being deeply loved by God and His people. There’s no telling where I’d be if God didn’t use that church to turn my mess into a message of love. I doubt I’d be a pastor.

If you are looking for a church that will welcome you with Jesus’ love, come check out First Congregational Church of Otsego. The first few words of our vision statement say, “We are committed to being a hospitable church family that welcomes all people.” When you come for a visit, you’ll see this statement is more than a phrase; it’s our identity and our mission. You are loved, Pastor Lenny Luchetti

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” ~Hebrews 11:1 (New International Version) By Rev. Dan Minor - revdminor1945@gmail.com

In times of personal crisis, where do we turn? Let’s learn a lesson from the Israelites of old (Exodus 14:10-14). For nine generations the children of Israel lived in slavery to Egypt. They were a proud people but were humbled by being forced into menial labor. They lived with the hope that God would send a leader to deliver them from bondage. God did just that.

After initial reluctance, Moses accepted his role as their deliverer. They were caught between the proverbial “Devil (Pharaoh) and the deep blue sea.” The Bible says that with the Egyptians going after them, “they were terrified…” (Exodus 14:l0). Who are the Pharaohs in our lives? Who or what are we afraid of? Is it the fear of failure? Is it the feeling of low self-esteem? Is it a broken relationship? Is it a family issue? Is it a health or financial issue?

When things go wrong, we have 3 options:

1. WE CAN FIND SOMEONE ELSE TO BLAME. The people of Israel blamed Moses saying to him, “Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt?” (Exodus 14:11). The blame game is as old as creation. We can always find someone to blame even if it is ourselves. This is usually a waste of time and energy and does not produce positive outcomes.

2. WE CAN FEEL SORRY FOR OURSELVES. “It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!” (Exodus 14:12). Again, feeling sorry for ourselves never solves the problem. Self-pity can lead to selfdefeat.

3. WE CAN FACE OUR FEARS WITH FAITH. If we could see the future, there would be no need for faith. If we could figure it out for ourselves, there would be no need for God. Moses had a great answer for the people in crisis: “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today …” (Exodus 14:13). That is the word they needed to see them through. These are the words we need to hear when things go wrong.
