OBITUARIES Lee F. MILLER
AGE 59 – PLAINWELL, MI Lee passed away Sunday, May 29, 2016 at his home in Plainwell. He was born April 26, 1958 in Plainwell the son of Ralph and June (Middleton) Miller. Lee graduated from Spring Arbor College and had worked at Walmart and Lull’s Hardware. He was a huge Detroit Tigers fan and liked collecting sports memorabilia and working on his computer. On April 1, 1992 in Las Vegas he married Sonya Nichols who survives. Also surviving are his children, Ashley McKenzie of Plainwell, Ruby (Jeremy) Rogers of Otsego and Jeremiah Conley of Holland; grandchildren, Alan and Ceana Rogers; brother, Larry (Char) Miller of Idaho along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Linda Holmes and daughter, Heidi Miller. According to his wishes cremation has taken place. No services have been scheduled at this time. There are special moments in life such as the moment of your birth, your first words, your first steps, your first day of school and so forth. Graduation is both an achievement and a new beginning (commencement). Fortunately, you do not have to travel on this journey alone. Here are some practical steps you can take to find meaning and purpose in your life. DELIGHT IN GOD’S PRESENCE.
Remember God is with you always (Matthew 28:20). Place Him on speed-dial. Talk to Him often. Read your Bible. Make Sunday worship a priority. Share your faith with others. Know that God is on your side. Understand that God loves you and sees great potential in you. “Steep yourself in God-reality, God-initiative, Godprovisions. Don’t worry about missing out. Marion R. SCHANZ AGE 75 – ALLEGAN, MI
Marion went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 1, 2016. Mr. Schanz was born February 10, 1941, in Cheshire Twp., the son of William and Ada (Busfield) Schanz. Marion graduated from Otsego High School, Class of 1959. On August 15, 1959, Marion married Shirley E. Laughlin, who survives. Marion’s priority has always been his family, he loved to spend time with his wife, kids, and all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and he invested both time and money to make sure they succeeded. One area that he tried to make a difference was at the Otsego Christian Academy. He and his wife have been members at Merson Church since 1975, he enjoyed playing the harmonica, and was skillful at metal fabrication, and loved to farm. He owned and operated Schanz Auto Parts in Gobles from 1965-1976, he then opened Schanz Tire and Auto Supply in Otsego in 1978, and was still actively operating along with his sons. Marion set a great example of a hard working family man who loved and served his Lord. Also surviving are his 3 children: Richard and Angela Schanz, Timothy Schanz, Robin Schanz; 4 grandchildren: Jason and Alison Schanz, Christine Schanz, Derek Schanz, Khrystie and Brock Sheffer; 7 great grandchildren: Kenny, Khandice, Khalianna, Billie Jo, Millie, Madison, Bentley; 4 brothers: Joe and Linda, David, Dan and Bonnie, Carl and Pat; 4 sisters: Donna and Bud Robart, Eleanor Kolhoff, Evie and Glenn Gorby, Edna Hatfield; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his 2 sisters: Mildred Dockweiler and Dorothy Schanz; and his brother, Robert. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday, June 5, 2016, from 3-6 pm, at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 6, 2016 at 4 pm, at Merson Church. Interment in Mallory Cemetery, Trowbridge Twp.
