Danny Truong is a 1st grader in Otsego. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He had part of it removed in Nov. 2016. He has been undergoing chemo treatments and will continue to do so for the rest of his life. He will be on medication also for the rest of his life. His family has huge medical bills and they keep coming in. All proceeds go to the Truong family for medical expenses. The ride and participation in bike show is $15. Each passenger is $5. To participate in the bike show alone, cost is $10. For the first 100 registered and paid riders, you will receive a $20 gift card to Dougies Bar and Grill in Otsego. Kick stands up at 1pm. Registration starts at noon at the Otsego Moose Lodge.

Requirements for RUBBISH PICK-UP
Please do not put refuse out before 3:00 pm the Sunday prior to April 10, June 12, August 14, and October 9. 1. All residents living on private roads must have the trash placed at the end of the road in a pile. 2. Refuse must be limited to what two men can lift. 3. Barrels with both ends cannot be picked up; land fills will not accept them. 4. All barrels, including barrels with trash in them, will be taken. Any barrel or container too heavy for two men to pick up will not be taken. 5. Trash piles should be located within easy reach from the road, not 20 to 30 feet, for the convenience of the trash haulers. 6. All objects must be bagged or put in containers that will be picked up. No loose materials will be picked up. 7. Containers must be left at curbside and they will not be returned. 8. Old appliances will be picked up if they can be lifted by two men. No refrigerators, freezers or air conditioners unless refrigerants are removed by a professional and tagged. Remember... Appliances can be recycled. 9. NO YARD WASTE! 10. NO BUILDING MATERIALS WILL BE PICKED UP 11. NO TIRES WILL BE PICKED UP 12. NO GARBAGE or container for food products will be picked up. 13. NO ROCKS, SAND, CONCRETE, RUBBLE OR DEAD ANIMALS will be picked up. 14. No motor oil or containers with liquids such as oil based and latex paint. Cans with dried paint are acceptable if lids are removed. 15. No call backs will be made if refuse is placed after the truck has serviced your house. 16. Complaints will be verified (field checked) by Township personnel and checked against driver’s log. 17. Any item not picked up because of the above reasons must be taken off the curbside and stored out of sight by noon of the day following each pick-up. 18. If your rubbish has not been picked up by Thursday 9:00 am, please call the Township Office, 694-9434. WE WISH TO KEEP OUR NEIGHBORHOODS NEAT & CLEAN. THAT IS WHY THE TOWNSHIP FURNISHES THIS SERVICE! Some may even question the presence of God. When life caves in, we can all learn from Jesus’ prayer to God in the Garden of Gethsemane.

OBITUARIES Harley SEEKMAN AGE 89 - OTSEGO, MI
Harley passed away Sunday, April 2, 2017 in Allegan surrounded by his family. Harley was born August 18, 1927 in Zeeland, Michigan, the son of John and Winnie (Zoet) Seekman. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII, stationed in Japan. On January 1, 1951 he married Mary Lou Milin in Chicago, IL. They started their lives together in Otsego. Harley was employed at the Mac Sim Bar paper mill in Otsego and later was self-employed in home construction. He enjoyed playing baseball with his family, helping them perfect their skills. Harley loved his family and traveled often to see them. His grandchildren were the light of his eye. Survivors include his wife Mary Lou; daughters, Kathy (Dorian) Jung of Portland, OR; Judy (DeWayne) DeLaet of Forest, MS and Mary (Bob) Pedersen of El Segundo, CA; grandchildren Miranda, Rebecca and Robby Pedersen; sisters, Dorothy (Bob) Hunt of Allegan, Joan Button of Otsego, brother Dickie (Jane) Seekman of Battle Creek and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters Marie, Edna Mae, Shirley and his brother John. Cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation was held on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego An informal prayer and time of sharing was led by Chaplain Greg Carlson. AGE 91 - MARTIN, MI Pauline passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017 at her home with her family by her side. Mrs. Orris was born January 16, 1926 in Martin the daughter of Harold and Isoline (Wilcox) Lober. Pauline was a homemaker and helped her husband Bob on the farm and caretaking of the park and cemeteries in Martin. She loved and cherished her family. On July 31, 1948 she married Robert R. Orris who preceded her in death in 2010.Survivors include her children, Daniel (Bernadine) Orris of Kentwood and Carol Orris of Martin; grandchildren, Patti (Keith) Patterson, Nancy Orris, Jill (Mark) Dodds and Daniel Orris Jr; 6 great grandchildren, Jacob, Mitchell, Abigail, and Maverick Patterson, Allison and Nathan Dodds; sister LaVonne Barnum, sisters-inlaw Ileta Marsh and Joyce Lober; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters Helen Frost, Anna Louise Dunahoo, Betty Jean Kunz, Nina Wykstra; brothers Raymond, Floyd, Lloyd and Harold Jr. Services were held, April 5, 2017 at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego Grandson, Daniel Orris, Jr was the celebrant. AGE 85 - PLAINWELL, MI
John passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2017 in Kalamazoo. John was born January 8, 1932 in Hope Township, Michigan, the son of Kenneth and Ora (Hine) Babcock. After graduating from Middleville High School he enlisted in the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of Corporal while serving his country. He was retired from James River Paper Company in Kalamazoo. On August 30, 1952 he married Ollie “May” Martin, she preceded him in death on February 15, 2014. May and John loved children and were foster parents to over 100 children over the years. He enjoyed traveling and camping, which often involved his other interest, cross country motorcycle racing. John was a member of the Ring City Road Runners of Hastings and spent as much time as he could spare riding his Harley. Survivors include his children, Dan Julien of Kalamazoo, Danny Babcock of Plainwell, Cindy Liska of Portage, Deb Babcock of Pontiac and Tim Babcock of Plainwell; 14 grandchildren, great grandchildren, his sister Jane (Bob) Groscost, sister in law Lora Babcock, many nieces and nephews, and his special friend and caregiver, Orin Armintrout. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his brother Dean. Friends may visit with his family 5:00 – 7:00 pm Friday, April 7, 2017 at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday at the Winkel Funeral Home. Private interment will take place at Union Cemetery, Lacy, Michigan. Marcia A. (Wilkins) METHENY AGE 69 - PLAINWELL, MI
Marcia went to be with our Lord on Friday, March 31, 2017, surrounded by her family. She was born November 11, 1947 in Hastings, MI. The daughter of Donna and Russel Wilkins, Marcia was a 1965 Hastings High School graduate. She attended Cosmetology School. Marcia did a variety of jobs such as cashier at East Side Grocery, a cook at an assisted living home and worked at Plainwell Lanes for many years. Marcia loved the outdoors; this would include camping, fishing, garage sales and watching the humming birds. Her special love was her dog “Leo”, collecting owls and Detroit Tigers memorabilia.’ On March 26, 1977, she married Leonard D. Methane who survives. Also surviving are her children, Tim (Cindy) Sinclair, Phillip L. Sinclair, Bruce (Kim) Sinclair, stepson Mike Metheny, stepdaughter Deb (Tim) Searl, stepson Louis Metheny, and stepson Robert “Bobby” (Jeanie) Metheny; 2 brothers, Gordon (Sue) Wilkins and Russel Wilkins; 1 sister, Gloria Meany, 2 half brothers, 2 half-sisters, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grand children. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and sister, Debra Wilkins. At Marcia’s request, there will be no services. We wish for everyone to remember her with good memories and lots of love.
