Brenda Lou Workman, a woman of profound faith and a devoted mother, passed away peacefully at her home in Otsego, Michigan, on March 21, 2026 She was 75 years old At the time of her passing, she was exactly where she wanted to be surrounded by the family she loved so dearly
Brenda was born on May 6, 1950, in Coldwater, Michigan, to Adam and Thelma (Patrick) Hall
Growing up as one of 17 children, Brenda learned early on the importance of family, patience, and the strength found in numbers She attended Plainwell High School and spent much of her life in the Plainwell, Allegan, and Otsego areas On August 4, 2000, she married the love of her life, Howard Workman of Allegan Together, they shared a beautiful life filled with adventure They were often found on the golf course or traveling together, enjoying each other's company until Howard’s passing on February 15, 2011 Brenda’s greatest vocation was that of a housewife and a mother She poured her heart into raising her three daughters, creating a home filled with warmth and the sounds of her favorite country gospel music
Her love for Jesus was the cornerstone of her life; her faith was not just a belief, but a guiding light that she carried with her through every season
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Howard; her parents, Adam and Thelma; her siblings: Beverly, Pam, Farin, Patrick, Patsy, Ricky, Jerry, Fred, Shriley, Carolynn, Donna, Glenda, Sharon, Jack and Deanna Brenda’s legacy lives on in her three daughters: Sheila Frisch of Plainwell, Pam Smecka (Steve) of Plainwell and Glenda (Kenny) Strojny of Plainwell; grandchildren: Daniel Vannoller, Chase Strojny, Vince Smecka and Bryson Strojny; her sister Cheryl Ball of Otsego; her sisters-in-law Nancy Hall and Laurie Hall; many nieces and nephews as well as a few special ones who include Melinda Glass, Brian Ball, Todd Patrick, Susan LaDuke and Rhonda Graves as well as a host of extended family and friends who will miss her gentle spirit and her unwavering kindness A funeral service took place on Thursday, March 26 at 11:00 a m Memorial donations may be made in Brenda’s name to Centrica Care Navigators Hospice

Danny L. LITTLE AGE 76 - PLAINWELL, MI
Danny Little, age 76, of Plainwell, passed away at his daughter s home on March 18, 2026, after a brief battle with esophageal cancer Born in Martin, Kentucky, on August 22, 1949, Danny was the youngest of Adam and Marie (Salisbury) Little’s six children The family eventually traded the Kentucky hills for Michigan in 1954, where Dan would grow up and graduate from Martin High School in 1967 His life took a patriotic turn in 1969 when he was drafted into the U S Army, proudly serving his country as a member of the elite 82nd Airborne Division Upon his honorable discharge, Danny returned home to Michigan to begin a long career in manufacturing first at Rockwell International in Allegan until the late '80s, and later at Haworth Manufacturing, where he remained until his retirement in 2008 In 1975, he married Barbara (Bellgraph), and together they raised their three children in Otsego Danny was his children’s biggest fan Whether it was Joe’s Special Olympics events or basketball games for Doug and Tracy, he was always in the stands cheering them on As Tracy moved into coaching, Danny rarely missed a game, becoming a familiar and beloved face supporting the next generation of local athletes He was ALWAYS there to support his children’s endeavors, and they will dearly miss his presence A true sports enthusiast, Danny was fiercely loyal to the Kentucky Wildcats, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and NASCAR’s Chase Elliott He followed high school sports across the regionfrom the Wolverine Conference to the OK Conference- he was always happy to chat about how teams were playing Dan held a lifelong passion for muscle cars and took immense pride in his Dodge Challenger He treated his car as both a high-performance machine (#Hemi) and a prized gallery piece (no touching, please)! Danny simply loved people and enjoyed his routines of meeting up with friends at local breakfast spots: Cooper Cafe, Barbed Wire, Our Table, and Judy’s With an easy-going demeanor and great sense of humor, he had the gift of gab and would strike up a conversation with anyone always happy to turn a stranger into a new friend He was preceded in death by his parents Adam and Marie Little, mother of his children Barb Little, sisters Thelma Joe Little, Ruby Joyce Salisbury, and Rosalie Tobin, brother-in-law Bob Tobin, brother Claude Little, and sister-in-law Marty Little Surviving are his three children: Tracy Little of Grand Rapids, Joseph Little of Grand Rapids, and Douglas Little of Chandler, Arizona; long-time friend Marcia Stech of Richland, and brother Robert Ray (Toni) Little of Galesburg Friends may dress casually and visit with Danny’s family starting at 11:00am on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Winkel Funeral Home in Otsego until the time of the memorial service at 12:30pm, with celebrant Monica Reyna Burial of ashes with military honors will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Plainwell

Tamara "Tammy" S Hoppe passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026 Born on January 7, 1960, in Kansas, Tammy was the daughter of Jim and Sue (Van Blarcom) Horrocks
Throughout her career, Tammy served as a registered nurse at Bronson Hospital Her commitment to helping others extended beyond the walls of the hospital She was an active member of the Otsego VFW Post #3030 auxiliary; Tammy also volunteered on the Otsego Planning Commission Additionally, she generously volunteered her time during elections Tammy was always generous, welcoming and reliable She found joy in driving her convertible Mustang and riding her motorcycle She cherished traveling, especially to her condo in Punta Gorda, Florida where she was active in many social groups She also enjoyed dinners at the Otsego VFW She loved spending time with her husband, Mike and the rest of her friends and family Tammy is survived by her daughter Jenna (Adam) Hoppe-Keith She also leaves behind siblings, Teresa (Mark) Luke, Tom (Diane) Horrocks, and Tim (Amy) Horrocks; mother and father-in-law Roz and Jerry Hoppe; nieces and nephews, Addy, Nolan, Jason and JT Tammy was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Michael Hoppe A visitation was held at Winkel Funeral Home on Thursday, March 26, from 10am until Noon Funeral services followed at Noon with celebrant Nyla Merrill A private burial took place at Mount Ever Rest Cemetery in Kalamazoo, the following day Contributions in memory of Tamara may be directed to the Otsego VFW Post #3030 Messages of condolence may be posted at www WinkelFuneralHome com

I remember crying myself, sometimes drinking myself, to sleep many nights when I was 18 years old My parents were battling drug addiction When we lost our home, I went to live with my grandmother I slept in her basement That’s where I cried myself to sleep I was a high school drop‐out, depressed alcoholic with no hope for a better life than I was living My friends were excited about their future career or college studies Not me I was simply and hopelessly waiting to die
That’s when it happened In my bed and in a drunken stupor, I prayed one of the shortest and most authentic prayers I’ve ever prayed “God, if you are there and you care about me, please help me” (I’m not even sure I said “please”‐ rude!) Long story short‐ God heard my prayer and resurrected my life with the gift of hope Though I was once hopeless, now I am full of hope I am hopeful that God can give me peace in any painful trial. I am hopeful that disease, poverty, violence, injustice, and depression don’t have the final word‐ Jesus does! I am hopeful that someday Jesus will wipe every tear from our eyes and make all things new! I am hopeful that God will use my life in a purposeful way to induce hope in others. I am hopeful that the wounds caused by me or afflicted on me will someday be healed! I am hopeful that this little article will resurrect hope in you!
Hope disappoints us so often I hoped to get the job, but I didn’t I hoped my dad would stop using drugs, but he didn’t I hoped that therapy would help with my depression, but it didn’t After a while, we stop hoping because it seems that hope does disappoint and hurt But not when our hope is placed in God’s love Romans 5:5 says, “hope does not disappoint because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts ” If you have nothing but Jesus, you have everything Take that, hopeless despair!
