Jon Michael HULTQUIST AGE 76 - PLAINWELL MI

Jon Michael Hultquist, age 76, of Plainwell, Michigan, passed away quietly after a long and courageous battle with COPD He was born on March 31, 1949, in Plainwell, Michigan, to Raymond Hultquist and Nellie Underwood Michael spent his life rooted in the Plainwell community, where his family relocated from Walthill, Nebraska, in 1941 He was known for his love of the outdoors and simple joys fishing on Fish Lake, hunting, taking long hikes with his beloved golden retrievers, and spending time visiting with friends, Michael dedicated many years of hard work to his career, working for 30 years at James River and an additional 12 years at JBS His strong work ethic and reliability were well known by those who worked alongside him On February 14, 1975, Michael married Suzanne Wood, beginning a marriage filled with shared memories and devotion He is survived by his son, Aaron Hultquist; his grandchild, Stevan Kelso; and his siblings Bert (Dot) Hultquist, Joe (Shirley) Hultquist, Janette (Gary) Saunders, and Neutat (Jerry) Currie He is also survived by many nieces and nephews Michael was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Richard Hultquist, and Lania Holstrom Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Michael’s memory to Centrica Rose Arbor Place

Kathy passed peacefully into the arms of her savior on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at her daughter’s home in Kalamazoo, surrounded by her loving family She was born on June 8, 1953, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, the daughter of Lawrence and Donadene (Wolfe) Dawson For the past 30 years she has operated a cleaning business for clients in Otsego and the greater Kalamazoo area She was held in high esteem by all she served To many she was more than a cleaning lady; she was loved as a dear friend She was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Otsego She volunteered for many years as a children’s teacher and most recently helped teach a ladies Sunday school class Kathy loved spending time at the lakeshore with her daughters, jigsaw puzzles with her cousins, and trips south to visit her siblings She also enjoyed baking; her fresh fruit pies are legendary She especially loved “cookie day” with her grandchildren during the holidays Kathy s greatest joy was found in the company of her family She cherished the time spent with her children, Sarah (Shane) Newcomer and Hannah (Matthew) Davidson, both of Kalamazoo, and her beloved grandchildren, Elena and Clara Newcomer and Adelinn and Griffin Davidson Also surviving are her siblings: Carol (Tom) Eyles, Janet (Jerry) Wiedenbenner, Walter (Sylvia) Dawson, Margaret (Harold) Baker, and Alice Wunker, along with many nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 6, 2026, at the First Baptist Church of Otsego, with Pastor Paul Laborde officiating Burial will follow at Mountain Home Cemetery Contributions in memory of Kathy may be directed to the First Baptist Church of Otsego building fund

Marilyn J (Allison) Cleary, age 92, passed away on January 27, 2026 Marilyn was born February 9, 1933, in Otsego, Michigan, to Dewight & Vera (Tozer)

Allison Marilyn was the middle child of 5 children in a full and active home She married Ken Cleary in 1953 and shared over 28 years of marriage with him prior to his passing She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother She loved to spend time with family and friends gardening, reading and baking and cooking She enjoyed being home Marilyn was a member of the Otsego Baptist Church for many years and enjoyed following her nephew when he became an evangelist Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Ken; her parents and her brother Albert She is lovingly remembered by children: Dave Cleary and Colleen (Dan) Stone; her sisters: Donna Lewis, Joyce Kershaw and Penney Dalton; grandchildren: Teresa (John) VanKeuren, Eric (Nikki) Cleary, Cavin Cleary, Abby West, Wesley Stone and four great-grandchildren In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial contribution to Centrica Care Navigators A memorial graveside service is being planned for the spring

Carolyn Marie HOWARD AGE 89 -

Carolyn Marie "Hanks" Howard was born March 28th, 1936 She passed passed peacefully January 6, 2026 with her children by her side Raised in Alabama, she split her time between her grandparents farm in Georgianna and the streets of Mobile As a young woman she loved going to Mardi Gras and dances at the naval base with her friends She was a southern girl through and through, even though she spent most of her life in Michigan After graduating from high school in Mobile in 1954, she stayed there until she met a handsome traveling salesman in early 1958 After a brief long distance romance, Carolyn married Bob Howard on July 26th, 1958 They moved to Plainwell, MI where they raised three children Pam Marc and Karen Carolyn was a stay at home Mom until her youngest started school She then spent many years working, first at Shakespeare as a data processor, and then at Borgess Hospital as a computer operator until her retirement She loved to read, sew, and cook - many times cooking large meals so she could share with her family and friends Her family would tell you that she made the best pie crust ever She loved to watch baseball and she loved going to musicals and the theater She could sit for hours visiting with her friends and she was a professional level shopper She was also a life long member of The First United Methodist Church Once she became a Nana, that was her life She would drop everything to walk a grandkid to the creek, and her treat jar was always full She went to their extra curricular activities and there always seemed to be a grandkid or two spending the night at her house She was happiest when her house was filled with her family Carolyn created a home that was always a home, long after all the kids were grown She leaves them all with so many loving memories She was so loved and will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, brother, and husband She is survived by her three children, and eight grandchildren, Miguel and Ricardo Fernandez, Paige Allen, Kyleigh, Cobi, Ally, Elijah Howard, and Landon Murphy Cremation has taken place according to her wishes and a graveside burial will take place June 6th at Hillside Cemetery

Michelle passed away Monday, February 2, 2026, at Corewell Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids She was born January 20, 1972, in St Joseph, the daughter of Francis “Butch” and Brenda Johnson Michelle graduated from Bangor High School in 1990 and attended Grand Valley State University before transferring to Aquinas College where she earned her teaching degree She worked at Bloomingdale Elementary for 20 plus years where she taught and assisted with youth basketball, softball, cheerleading and concessions She went on to teach at Endeavor Charter Academy in Battle Creek for several years and was currently teaching at Innocademy in Fennville Michelle enjoyed crafting, thrift shopping and attending pageants with her daughter More than anything she loved spending time with her family Michelle had a contagious laugh and could make friends with anyone She was an organ donor who selflessly gave the gift of life and research Michelle married Michael Tourangeau on July 21, 1999 Surviving are her children, Kohl (Nikki) Tourangeau, Shaylynn (Angel) Tourangeau, Ashley (Jason) Morley, Michael (Andrea) Liskovec and Tyler Tourangeau; grandchildren, Oakley, Michael, Jessica, Aubrey, Brendan and Melody; her parents, Butch and Brenda Johnson of Bangor; brother, Jeremy (Holly) Johnson and nieces and nephews, Baleigh, Sierra, Jordan, Jasmine and Payton She was preceded in death by her husband Friends may visit with Michelle’s family starting at 1:00 P M , Sunday, February 8, 2026, at the Winkel Funeral Home, until the time of the funeral service at 3:00 P M with Fred Honore officiating Burial will take place on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Hudson Corners Cemetery Contributions in memory of Michelle may be directed to Innocademy in Fennville Arrangements by Winkel Funeral Home - Otsego Messages of condolence may be posted at www WinkelFuneralHome com
