I was 9 years old when my dad gave me a brand new baseball glove‐ real leather! After I broke it in at home, I took it to the local playground and started using it Another kid my age, named Louis, decided to urinate on my new glove I was humiliated and angry but did nothing at the time A few days later, some older kids found out how Louis defiled my glove They held Louis’ arms and demanded that I punch him as hard as I could I did and, at the time, it felt so good
I cried myself to sleep the next three nights, feeling bad for humiliating Louis Getting revenge didn’t feel as good as I thought it would It never does The next time I saw Louis at the playground, I apologized and shook his hand We became friends Making peace with Louis felt so much better than throwing punches at him Peacemaking isn’t easy but it beats punch‐throwing
Jesus said, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the children of God” (Matthew 5:9) Jesus is saying that the way we will be identified as God’s children is not by our capacity to throw punches, physically or verbally, but by our willingness to make peace With all the violence and polarization we see in our streets and online, one thing is obvious The world needs more peacemakers and less punch‐throwers When we make peace, we imitate Jesus who made “peace through his blood shed on the cross” (Colossians 1:20) The ultimate Peace Bridge is not the one that connects the US and Canada, but the cross of Christ that bridges the gap between us and God, as well as between us and other people
See you Sunday! Pastor Lenny Luchetti

“WHY SO MANY LOVE JESUS”
“For God so loved the wor ld He gave His only Son that whosoever believes in Him sha l not per ish but have ever lasting life John 3:16 By Rev Dan Minor - revdminor1945@gmai
Why do so many people love Jesus? Here are just some of the reasons we love Him
1 Jesus is Lovable
We all want to be loved That is why we are attracted to Him Jesus’ love is genuine, sacrificial, self-giving, redemptive, inclusive, compassionate, unconditional, unwavering and eternal His love was like a magnet drawing people to Him During His public ministry on ear th, children felt His love Sinners were transformed by His love The sick came and were healed The hungry came and were fed Those with great needs knew He would not turn them away His disciples left everything to follow Him Jesus loves us no matter what who we are or what we have done Jesus came into the world not to condemn us, but to save us (John 3:17)
2. Jesus is Approachable
The Bible says the common people heard him gladly (Mar k 12:37) That was because He spoke in a language they could understand He was neither pretentious nor pompous He spoke clear ly and simply One of His greatest teaching methods was stor ytelling (parables) People could relate to Him
3 Jesus is our Dearest Friend
Human fr iendships are sometimes frail There is always the possibility of fracture in fr iendships
The Bible says, “There are fr iends who pretend to be fr iends, but there is a fr iend who sticks closer than a brother” (Proverbs 18:24) Jesus is that Person He is the Fr iend all of us need There is no greater fr iendship than fr iendship with God
