Does Treatment for Neuropathy Pain Have to Involve Prescription Drugs?

Timothy Paul MITCHELL
Jeffrey Lynn Ramsey, age 64, of Plainwell, Michigan, passed away with his wife by his side on Friday, January 22, 2021, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Jeffrey was born on July 6, 1956, in Cleveland, Ohio. The son of Columbus “Sam” Jackson Ramsey and Dorothy Marie (Faulhaber) Ramsey. Jeff was a dedicated family man who loved spending time with his family and friends. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, putzing around his garage, and spending time with his Grandchildren. Jeff enjoyed a good practical joke and was always the first one to arrive and the last one to leave. Jeff graduated from Plainwell High School in 1974, where he met his future bride, Rhonda Gaye (Burd) Ramsey. Jeff and Rhonda dated for four years before marrying on May 7, 1977. They were happily married for 43 years. The marriage was blessed by four children, Jeffrey (Lacey) Ramsey of Plainwell, MI, Derek (Melissa) Ramsey of Plainwell, MI, Erin (Ramsey) and Alan Vochaska of South Haven, MI, and Sarah (Ramsey) and Cory Barnes of Plainwell, MI. Jeff and Rhonda are blessed with eleven grandchildren and one on the way. Jeff is survived by his Mother, Dorothy Ramsey of Plainwell, MI, and three siblings, Carl (Kenley) Ramsey of Otsego, MI, John Ramsey of Plainwell, MI, and Joyce Swinehart of Mattawan, MI, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, and cousins. Jeff was proceeded in death by his father, “Sam” Ramsey, his father-in-law, Robert Burd, and his mother-in-law, Rebecca “Marie” Burd. Jeff was an active member of the Plainwell First United Methodist Church where he worshipped and volunteered many hours. When his boys were young, he spent time volunteering with the Boy Scouts. Visitation was held on January 26, 2021 at
Tim was born September 9, 1955 in Plainwell, Michigan. He was one of six children born to Delmer (Dick) and Mildred Mitchell. Tim graduated from Plainwell High School, class of 1974, and married his sweetheart Jennifer (Chappell) in 1976. They made their home and raised their children in Otsego. Tim worked for Parker Hannifin Fluidpower Pump Division in Otsego until his retirement. His post retirement years were spent snowblowing the neighborhood, telling his son that he was using tools wrong, bickering with his wife about the proper way to load dishes, and being affectionately known to his grandchildren as Grumpa. We wouldn’t have changed a thing. In addition to his wife, Tim is survived by his son Grant (Jamie) Mitchell and their children, Connor, Ariya and Wyatt Mitchell, and his brother David (Karla) Mitchell, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins, and his close friend, Carlos Vasquez. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Erica, and his siblings Janice Wright, Rebecca Mitchell, Daniel Mitchell and Laurie Holloway. Tim passed away January 7, 2021 at Bronson Hospital after a long struggle with COVID-19. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A barbeque to celebrate Tim’s life will be announced this summer. Jack A. Brown, of Portage, formerly of Plainwell and Vicksburg, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021 at the age of 91. Jack was born on July 24, 1929 in Dayton, Ohio. He was the son of Sabert and Leslie (Truitt) Brown. On January 4, 1949 Jack married the love of his life, Ethlyn Miller and together they had three children: Janet, Lois, and Bill. Jack worked for over 40 years in Parchment for KVP as a machinist. In his spare time, he loved to fish at his lake cottage. He also enjoyed bowling, golf, hunting and sports in general. Jack’s family will remember him as loving, mellow, humble, social and an overall friendly person. Jack and Ethlyn have had a special friendship with Bud and Marilyn Bekken for over 70 years. Jack is survived by his wife of 72 years, Ethlyn; three children: Janet (Warren) Wright, of Vicksburg; Lois (Derry) Sanford, of Vicksburg; Bill (Cindy) Brown, of Plainwell; six grandchildren: Laura (Mike), Doug (Chad), Thomas (Beth), Jacob (Bethany), Jodi (Dennis), Chad; 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother. Jack has been cremated and services are currently being postponed until summer. Carolyn June Frost AGE 73 - OTSEGO, MI
Carolyn was reunited with loved ones in Heaven on Saturday, January 23, 2021 from her daughter’s home, in Battle Creek, where she was surrounded by her loving family after a two year battle with cancer. She was born to the late Willie and Dorothy (Buckner) Cox on June 17, 1947 in Monterey, Tennessee. Carolyn wed Donald Frost “Frosty”, on September 27, 1997 at a ceremony in Battle Creek, Michigan. Growing up with a large family, she was one of seven children, Carolyn had strong family ties. Upon graduating from high school, she went on to further her education, began a career with Eaton Corporation where she eventually retired as a Core Administrator. She was completely adored by all who knew her. Carolyn didn’t let the grass grow under her feet, she loved camping and fishing, taking walks with her sisters, and when the weather in Michigan started to get a little chilly her and her husband, Frosty, would head to Florida for the winter. She was an avid reader and an accomplished writer, penning many a poem. She enjoyed trips to the casino, but for Carolyn, her favorite place and times were when she was surrounded by her family, who completely filled her with happiness and joy. Her hugs, sense of adventure, compassionate ways, and smiling face will be missed by those who had the privilege of being a part of her life. She is preceded in passing by her son, Brian Cushman; her parents, Willie and Dorothy Cox; and siblings, Marland Cox and Lucille Rodriguez, granddaughter, Alysse Cushman, brotherin-law Charles L. Frost, and sister-in-law LaVerne Frost. Carolyn is survived by her husband, Donald “Frosty” Frost of Otsego; her children, LeAnn (Ken) Crouch of Battle Creek, Brad (Sonya) Cushman of Battle Creek, Ben (Julie) Cushman of Alabama, Kenny (Tiffany) Frost of California, April (Joe) Wesner of Missouri, David (Ronda) Frost of North Carolina, and Kathy (Jimmy) Carlin of Battle Creek. She will also be missed by nineteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren who she completely adored, her siblings, Barb (Don) Butcher of Battle Creek, Eva (David) May of Ludington, Brenda (Bob) May of Battle Creek, and Bob (Dot) Cox of Massachusetts, and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral service were held Friday, January 29, 2021 at Calvary Apostolic Church in Battle Creek, officiated by her nephews, Reverend Keith Rodriguez and Reverend Jason Rodriguez. The funeral will also be livestreamed with a link available on BrownFuneralHomeNiles.com. A private immediate family committal service will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery. In keeping with the Covid-19 guidelines, our gathering is limited. The State of Michigan requires all in attendance to follow all guidelines including, social distancing, mandatory mask, and hand sanitizing. Dick passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021 at his home in Galesburg. He was born May 27, 1944 in Kalamazoo, the son of Eugene and Mary (Kurlenda) Andrysiak. Dick proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. For many years he worked as an auto body technician until his retirement in 2010. In his free time Dick enjoyed cars, racing, tinkering in his garage and 4-wheeling. He was a member of the Otsego VFW Post #3030 and the Sundowners 4-Wheeling Drive Club. Surviving are his life partner, Evelyn Blain; children; Mike (Paula) Andrysiak, Lisa (Vern) Nelson, Jason Andrysiak and Beth (Steven) Trice; step-children, Collen (Steve) Bowker and Robb (Jana) Blain; step-daughter-in-law, Cindy Blain; grandchildren, Zachary, Kevin, Brandan, Mark, Eva, Robby, Lorin and Brian; his sister, Rosalie (Don) Philipp along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Chuck and John; step-son, Rick Blain and nephew, Rob Philipp. A graveside service was held Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South in Kalamazoo with celebrant, Bill Rose officiating. Contributions in memory of Dick may be made to Otsego VFW Post #3030. Here are some things that happen when we focus on Jesus: • We experience personal salvation (Isaiah 45:22). • We experience God’s perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3). • We receive guidance from God (Psalm 37:23-24). • We discover God’s best for us (Matthew 6:33). • We experience His living presence (Luke 24:30-32). • We are drawn closer to God (James 4:8). • We discover God’s purpose for our lives (Philippians 3:13, 14). • We begin to bear fruit for God (Psalm 1:1-3). • We can meet any challenge (Matthew 19:26). • We become more like Jesus (2 Corinthians 3:18). • We gain God’s wisdom for a given situation (James 1:5). • We gain Heaven’s perspective (Colossians 3:2).
In a world of uncertainty; God offers His loving presence. In a world of broken relationships; God offers healing. In a world of broken promises and shattered dreams; God offers hope. All we need to do is focus on Him!
