Check your sidewalks and mailboxes ARE THEY ACCESSIBLE?
If not, you could be adding more frigid outdoor time to those delivering the mail and newspapers, as well as kids walking home from school. We remind you to help neighbors who may not be able to shovel themselves out or clear their sidewalks.
Let’s work together as a community to keep everyone safe this winter!
Winter Checklist
At the Shoppers Guide, we try our hardest to deliver your paper to you every week. We appreciate your patience as we maneuver through sometimes treacherous winter conditions.
Make sure the paper box and hook is clear of snow and easily accessible.
Remember, delivery people MUST be able to easily pull up and away from your mailbox in their vehicle and reach it from inside their vehicle. They have many stops to make and if your box is not accessible, it will be skipped for the safety of our drivers.
If your paper box and mail box is by your house, is the sidewalk and walkway cleared of snow and ice? Is it safe for others to walk on?
We do not expect our walking route delivery people to walk through deep and uncleared sidewalks and driveways. If yours is not shoveled, you may be skipped.

Maybe...giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they will love you back Don't expect love in return; just wait for it to grow in their heart; but, if it doesn't, be content that it grew in yours
Is Meekness Weakness?
I remember watching the sitcom, Cheers, in the 90s The show takes place in a Boston bar Every episode opens with the beloved accountant, Norm Peterson, entering the bar with everyone shouting “Norm!” Then Sam Malone, the bartender, would ask Norm something like, “How’s it going?” One of Norm’s most memorable responses was, “Sammy, it’s a dog eat dog world out there and I’m wearing milk bone underwear ” Hilarious Norm’s right It is a dog eat dog world, where everyone seems out to outdo or step on everyone else How are we to navigate a world where the popular cultural messages are that nice guys seem to finish last, only the strong survive, might makes right, and don’t get mad but get even?
The message of Jesus is very different He says, “Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth” (Matthew 5:5) When we hear the word “meek” we might think of the word “weak,” and not only because it rhymes But meekness is not weakness at all; it is power restrained by love A meek person chooses mercy when she is in a position to overpower her adversary A meek person forgives his enemy instead of humiliating them with gossip A meek person responds to social media attacks with kindness and grace Meekness is not weakness at all, but power restrained by love
Jesus is the meekness king At any point during his arrest, torture, and crucifixion, he could have called down legions of angels to destroy the people executing his execution But, instead, with his last breath, looking out from the cross at those who put him there, Jesus prays, “Father forgive them” (Luke 23:34) Wow! Meekness, it seems, requires way more strength in this “dog eat dog world” than “might makes right ” Friends, the world needs to experience the meekness of Christ flowing through those of us who claim to follow Him You in?

“FINDING SOMETHING WE WERE NOT LOOKING FOR”
For the son of man came to save and to seek the lost – Luke 19:10
com
By Rev Dan Minor - revdminor1945@gmai
Have you ever found something you were not looking for? At times we find something we forgot we had or something we had given up looking for
That was the situation of John Wesley (17031791), a product of the so-called “First Great Awakening” and founder of the Methodist Church
The movement of God’s Spir it swept Br itain and its thir teen colonies in the 1730s and 1740s On the night of May 24, 1738, Wesley went unwillingly to a prayer meeting on Aldersgate Street in London
It happened as a person was reading Luther’s
Preface to the Epistle to the Romans In Wesley’s own words, “At about a quar ter before nine, while he was descr ibing the change which God wor ks in the hear t through faith in Chr ist, I felt my hear t strangely war med I felt I did tr ust in Chr ist alone, for salvation and an assurance was given me that He had taken away my sins, even mine, and saved me from the law of sin and death ”
to include: Homemade spaghetti, salad, garlic br ead, variety of homemade desser ts & beverage
The point is sometimes God finds us when we are not seeking Him In the 15th chapter of Luke’s account of the gospel, Jesus talked about four who were lost as follows: l) Sheep that were lost through other interests 2) A coin that was lost through idleness 3) The prodigal son who was lost through wrong desires 4) The Elder Brother who was lost through pr ide
The good news is that Jesus seeks all who are lost whether we are looking for Him or not
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank You for coming into our lives and making us the persons you want us to be In Your strong name Amen
