Lori passed away on November 18, 2020, with her daughters, Megan Burrows and Alicia Burrows by her side. Her son, Aaron Burrows was on a video call and her brother, Scott Hover delivered a beautiful communion over the phone. Lori spent her last moments feeling love and support from her family. She was full of love and laughter, smiling, and making jokes until her last breath. Lori was born to surviving parents, Carol and Russell Hover on April 29, 1962. She acquired a strong work ethic, a huge sense of creativity, and an endless amount of love and compassion from her parents. They have all been very strong, active members of their community. Lori is also survived by her sister, Diane Hehman as well as her foster son, Fabulous Gaines, and grandchildren, Riley, Russell, Sage, Jasper, Nash, and Rene. If you knew Lori, you knew that things were going to be taken care of one way or another and they would be organized and structured to a T. If Lori was not planning or organizing something, then she was planning on finding something to organize. She has made a huge impact on so many people's lives. She has generations of kids that call her mom. If you ever needed someone in your corner, Lori was the person to be there. She was one of the most loyal people you would have ever met. Lori was continually active in the schools and community from Girl Scout Troop Leader to taking tickets at a High School Musical to being in the stands at a sporting event cheering on the kids she loved the most. Lori was always putting kids first. Taking care of people and making them feel their worth was something Lori was passionate about. She always loved to laugh… but don’t get her going too hard if her inhaler isn’t nearby. She was full of love and sunshine and would do anything to make someone else smile. Lori is now in Heaven and cheering all of us on from up there. She is also most likely planning welcome parties in anticipation of her friends and family. Keeping Lori and her friends and family in your thoughts and prayers would be very much appreciated. If you knew Lori, please do something nice for someone with her in mind. Lori would like all of us to live life, be strong, and love one another. In light of our current situation with Covid-19 and wanting to keep everyone safe, there will not be a funeral. Linda passed away Monday morning November 30, 2020 at the Wings of Hope Hospice in Allegan, Ml after a year and a half of fighting liver cancer. Linda was born November 21, 1952. She was the daughter of Donald C. Gilman and Mildred M. Gilman. She was an Otsego resident for most of her life, and a graduate of Plainwell High School in 1970. She was united in marriage to Robert Hole Jr. in July of 1973 and was blessed with two children Robert Hole Ill on May 25, 1977 and Ryan Hole on June 28, 1984. She was a retired Realtor of 25 years. She had a passion for Line Dancing and Ball Room Dancing where she gained many great friends and won awards. She lit up the room with her glowing smile and her stylish clothes. She enjoyed spending time with her two sons and her grandchildren, whom which she adored and loved dearly. She loved spending time outdoors and enjoyed going on nature walks. Surviving are her children Robert (Laura) Hole Ill, Ryan (Lindsey) Hole; grandchildren, Shawn, Megan and Tyler; great-grandchild Karson. Also surviving are her siblings Donald F. Gilman of Plainwell, Dawn Martin of Kalamazoo, Carol Jarsma of Kalamazoo, Flo Byrd of Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, and her brother. According to her wishes cremation has taken place. Private services will take place at a later date. There will be no visitation. Joanie passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Vicinia Gardens in Otsego. She was born October 4, 1938 in Otsego, the daughter of Everett and Dorothy “Dot” (Graham) Leighton. Joanie attended Otsego Public Schools where she displayed her mastery of the baton in her position as lead drum majorette in the Bulldog marching band. She marched in the Orange Bowl parade and was noticed by marketers who gave her a role in commercials and put her image on the packages of the Be-Mo Potato Chips. Joanie was active in 4-H and won several Grand Championships with her horses Dixie and Checkers at the Allegan County Fair and many other events. She worked at Gibson Guitar in Kalamazoo and modeled with a guitar custom made for and presented to Elvis Presley. She loved music and dancing winning many competitions. She could be found dancing to classics up until she was called home by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Joanie was an active member of the Singapore Yacht Club in Saugatuck. On December 15, 1985 at Allegan Methodist Church she married the love of her life and best friend to the end James Curtis who survives. Also surviving are her children, Richey (Patricia) Anson, Tami (Doug) Dommert, Bill (Jackie) Sleeman and Marc (Kathy) Sleeman; step-children, Keith (Angie) Curtis and Brad (Ronnie) Curtis; grandchildren, Marcus, Grant, Anthony, Dillon, Katie, Natalie, Gracie and Gabi; 2 step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Ellie Jay and Mariah; sisters, Joyce Sheldon and Jan Ramando along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter, Amber. According to her wishes cremation has taken place. Contributions in memory of Joanie may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. AGE 74 • ALLEGAN, MI Dennis passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020 at his home in Allegan. He was born February 27, 1946 in Gary, Indiana, the son of Frances “Frank” and Georgia (Gilleo) Zugel. Dennis proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in Korea during the Vietnam War. For 37 years he worked at Parker Hannifin and after his retirement worked at Harbor Freight for several years. Dennis was a jack of all trades and had a very giving heart. He would do anything to help anyone in need. He enjoyed the outdoors and liked hunting, fishing, shooting and trapping. Dennis loved his family very much and cherished spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Allegan American Legion. In 1965 in Watson Township he married Dorothy “Dottie” Coburn who survives. Also surviving are his children, Dan (Tina) Zugel of Fennville and Dana (Brent) Smallidge of Allegan; 5 grandchildren, Tiffany, Nichole, Brooke, Autumn and Mitchell; a great-grandchild due soon; his sister, Marge Ehresman along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jerry Zugel. A private family visitation will take place starting at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Rick Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain Home Cemetery in Otsego. Military Honors by VFW Post #3030. Masks and social distancing guidelines will be followed. Phillip passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2020 in Kalamazoo. Phillip Dunlop was born February 10, 1926 in Grand Rapids, MI to Earle and Rosa (Brace) Dunlop. He grew up working alongside his father on the Dunlop Orchard on Pine Lake and took the business over in the early 60’s when his father retired. Phillip was a lifelong member of the Horticulturist Society and always attended the yearly show in Grand Rapids. He loved spending time on the lake and was known for giving thrill rides on his golf cart going over the hill. He faithfully attended church and loved his family. On May 1, 1945 at the Plainwell Baptist Church he married Jacqueline J. Johnson and they enjoyed 67 years of marriage. Jackie preceded him in death in 2012. On January 1, 2013 he wed Lucy (Henry) Hulbert who survives. Also surviving are his daughters, Patricia Flanders of Grand Rapids, Phyllis (Gary) Rogers of Otsego and Rose (Jerry) Robart of Plainwell; grandchildren, Wendie Honeysett, Matt Rogers, Rachel Flickinger, Renee Compston, Cara Kuipers, Brandon Robart and Luke Robart; 14 great-grandchildren; many extended family members and special friend, Mark Sherman. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jackie, two sons-in-law, Steven Spencer and Verl Flanders and brothers, David and Paul. Burial has taken place at Prairieville Cemetery. AGE 88 • KALAMAZOO, MI John passed away on Sunday morning, November 29, 2020. John was born in Plainwell, on August 19, 1932, the son of Harley C. and Lillian (Bump) Haskins. On September 3, 1955, he married his high school sweetheart Diana Haylett who survives him. John worked as a journeyman electrician and was a proud member of Local #131 IBEW. He also was proud to have served in the United States Army. He and Diana were avid dancers. He loved watching football. Besides his wife, John is survived by his sons, William (Joyce) Haskins of Bluffton, SC, and Joseph (Amy) Haskins of Kalamazoo; grandchildren, John (Aly) Haskins, Kaitlin (Sid Menon) Haskins, Ben Haskins, Bailey (Cean) Rench, Janie Haskins, Jessica Haskins; 4 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Beulah Pallett and Beverly Kelsey. The family is planning a graveside memorial service in the spring. “Once in our world, a stable had something in it that was bigger than our whole world” – C.S. Lewis
The birth of Jesus Christ was no ordinary birth and here are some of the reasons why: 1. No Other Birth was God-Ordained.
It was God’s plan to come to earth in order to give humankind a better understanding of who God is. Christ came as a visible Person to show us “the image of the invisible God” (Colossians 1:15). Among other things, He became human flesh to show us God’s glory (John 1:14). He came to “seek and to save the lost” (Luke l9:10) and to give us a full and meaningful life (John l0:10). 2. No Other Birth was Prophesied.
All of the prophesies concerning our Lord’s birth (including His ancestry, the time of His birth, the nature of His birth and the place of His birth etc.) were perfectly fulfilled in Him. The prophesies show us God can be trusted to keep God’s promises. They demonstrate God’s character, substantiate God’s truth and authenticate God’s Word (Luke 24:44). 3. No Other Birth was a Virgin Birth.
No one was more surprised than Mary at the news of giving birth to Jesus. She might have been terrified by the news, but in reality she simply asked, “How can this be since I am a virgin?” (Luke 1:34). The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be holy; he will be called the Son of God” (Luke 1:35). Both Mary and Joseph accepted the angelic explanation (Luke 1:38; Matthew 1:18-25). Obviously this was no ordinary birth. 4. No other Birth Had Such World-wide Significance.

No Other Birth Had Such Eternal Significance.

In summary, the birth of Christ cannot be replicated or duplicated, but it can be celebrated! Prayer: Dear Lord, be born again in me today. In Your strong name. Amen.

Gifts cards are not meant for payments "If someone is asking you to put money on a gift card to pay them, it's a scam,” says the FTC's Patti Poss, a senior attorney in its Division of Marketing Practices.
"Your blood pressure goes up, your adrenaline starts rushing and you think, I have to do whatever it takes to get out of this situation,” Nofziger says. "It doesn't matter your educational level or your financial level, we all can be put under that emotional ether to be victimized." Once a victim reads a gift card number and PIN over the phone — or sends a digital photo of the numbers — a criminal can immediately spend the funds online or sell the data on the dark web. Some crooks don't wait for a photo; they keep the victim on the phone until the numbers are read to them. Use gift cards only as gifts for people you know — and never for payments. Legitimate businesses and government agencies will never demand payment in gift cards. Rebel has been at the animal shelter far too long since mid-June! This adorable pup would love to find his forever family and begin his life with them!
