One incredible volunteer has been coming out to the shelter several times a week just for Jack Frost....walking him, loving him and giving him the consistency he’s been craving. Thanks to her, we’ve learned so much more about who 2 year old Jack Frost really is:

• Loves to crawl right into your lap for cuddles & kisses

• Walks beautifully on a leash, always turning back with the biggest smile

• Digs side-by-side with her 2-year-old — two buddies doing their thing

• Did amazing during his recent bath and looked extra handsome afterward!

• Needs to be the only dog (and no cats, please)

• Potty trained and proud of it

And here’s a little more good news — his adoption fee has already been sponsored! Jack Frost has found a way to cope at the shelter thanks to his person who’s been there for him. But he cannot stay here forever. He desperately needs a family of his own. Let’s not make him wait any longer.

VETERANS DAY • NOVEMBER 11TH

Once referred to as Armistice Day, Veterans Day is a time to recognize all the men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces during wartime and peacetime. According to the Department of Veterans Affairs, there are over 21.8 million veterans in the United States, many of whom served in wars, like the Korean Conflict, and the Persian Gulf War. On November 11th, pay tribute to our veterans and thank them for the sacrifice they have made to preserve our freedom and protect our country.

No matter who you are, where you have been, or what you have done, you are welcome and wanted by God and First Congregational Church of Otsego! We are a bunch of regular people trying to find healing and hope in Jesus Christ. Our Sunday morning service is short and relaxed, but meaningful and impactful. Come check us out this Sunday. Trust me, you will be glad you did! You are loved, Pastor Lenny Luchetti COME

“KEYS TO THE KINGDOM” – PART 7

“Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called children of God” ~Matthew 5:9 By Rev. Dan Minor - revdminor1945@gmail.com

The seventh key to the kingdom is being a peacemaker. One day Jesus will come with his angels and there will be permanent peace in our world. There will be no more wars, no more violence, no more conflict, no more suffering, no more partisanship, no more name calling and no more hate in our world. In the meantime, Jesus wants us to be peacemakers.

Jesus came to earth to teach us how to get along with one another. The angelic announcement of His birth was “Glory to God in the highest and on earth, peace good will toward men” (Luke 2:14). Just before leaving this earth, Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you” (John 14:27).

Peace begins when we invite Jesus into our hearts by faith. In Romans 5:1 we read, “Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” The next step is to live at peace with others. In Romans 12:18 we read, “If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.” Peacemakers are considerate of others, selfless, loving, forgiving and kind.

The second half of this beatitude gives peacemakers a huge compliment. To be called “children of God” is the nicest thing God could say about us and the very height of Christian maturity.

Prayer: Dear Lord, “Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me.” In Your strong name. Amen.
