A Hero’s Welcome home
Story and photos by Bergan Simmonds Photo Chief
The Omaha community came together Sep. 10 for a true presentation of patriotism as the remains of Corporal Daegan Page were returned to their final resting place. Corporal Page, a 2016 graduate of Millard South High School, was one of 13 soldiers killed in a brutal attack on the Kabul Airport on Aug. 26. This attack hit the hearts of not only Americans across the nation, but also Omaha locals too. Thousands lined the path as Corporal Page’s remains were escorted to Braman Mortuary, honoring his service to the country.
