Millard South Varsity Baseball is fighting their way through State for the 11th consecutive year in a row. The Patriots took game two against Elkhorn South Tuesday. With leading hitters, Tre Mungin and Matt Guthmiller, Millard South pulled off another beautiful 7-1 win, highlighting 6 great innings pitched by Jerrett Novak and the 1 by senior AJ Locum to finish off the game. In the first round of the tournament Sunday, South played Grand Island in a close game, scoring in the final inning for a 2-1 win. The Patriots face Millard West Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Haymarket Park.

Blazing speed and a winning attitude make a champion Jack Towne Staff Reporter
Junior Isaiah Harris won the 100 meter dash at the 2019 Metro Conference Invite with a blazing time of 10.895 seconds, a personal record. “To be honest, it felt like a normal race,” Harris said. “ I didn’t really start feeling like a metro Junior Isaiah Harris champion until I started Photo by seeing it on the news.” Cole Herbolsheimer Harris seemed to take winning the race against some of the fastest runners in Omaha in such a dominant fashion in stride. “I was coming off of an injury, so I was just excited to run again,” Harris said. An interesting note that makes this all the more impressive is that this is Millard South’s first Metro champion in the 100 meter dash in school history. He followed this feat up with a State-qualifying performance at the Districts competition. Harris hopes to use this performance as a springboard as he and the rest of the track team prepare for the State Track competition later this month
