Patriots have dominated the state for years, boasting 11 state tournament titles in the last 20 years, and 6 state dual titles since 2015. “Coach Denson, who was here before me, did such a great job laying down the foundation and groundwork of this program that I felt like all I had to do was keep it going in the same direction, keep the boat going,” head coach Nate Olson, said. “And now, I feel like I’m kind of just coming into my own. The Millard South wrestling program earned their fourth consecutive state team title before the championship medal rounds had even started. Junior Aiden Robertson’s victory in his match for 3rd secured enough points on day two to gurantee a victory regardless of final match outcomes. “It meant a lot, just winning a state title with these guys, and especially the seniors on the team,” sophomore Miles Anderson said. “I’ve known those guys for a really long time. They are family, so it meant a lot to win a state title with them.” “It was really exciting, especially since it was our fourth straight team state title,” senior Tyler Antoniak said. “Me and Antrell are the first two people -Sophomore Miles Anderson at Millard South to be on a 4-peat, so it feels really good.” The team had 10 wresthe right spots, getting the right kids in tlers guaranteed a spot on the podium going into the right spots. Olson’s lucky; he’s left in good hands.” “It’s definitely a bittersweet goodbye, seeing these guys go,” junior Joel Adams said. “They’ve all been really really big parts of my life, especially

I give my sincere thanks to them because they’ve taught me a lot of things, not only about wrestling but also how to be the best leader I can be next season.” With the depth the program has, we can expect the Patriots to be back on the podium once again next year. “I’m really proud of these guys,” Olson said. “The season was long, the practices get boring when you have so much success, but they didn’t show any signs of weaknesses. They battled through injury, they battled through adversity. Just seeing these kids have such a success and outperform their expectations or where they were ranked, it’s awesome.”
