What is Placeshaping?
Placeshaping is what we call our investment in your community; not just building new homes but shaping the places around it so that the estate remains fit for the future.
Casey’s Appointed to undertake work on Shadsworth properties
We’ve recently appointed a company called Casey’s to deliver works on the Shadsworth Estate. This work involves the demolition of Gleneagles Court and completing a range of work on existing homes, ranging from external roof replacement and works to fences and hedges, to internal kitchen & bathroom replacements.
Every Together Housing resident on Shadsworth whose home is requiring work will eventually benefit from us bringing forward our investment programme. However there are a lot of properties to work through so we ask that you bear with us.
We’ve identified homes that might need work immediately and, if your home is part of this, Casey’s will contact you directly over the coming months. In that case, you will receive a letter with further details of how they can visit to assess what does and does not need doing and can then progress the works required. Please
be patient as our contractors work their way around the estate.
Park Planning Approval
We have recently been granted planning permission to go ahead with our plans for the park off Rothesay Road, part of the wider Place Shaping programme. This is a huge milestone for this project and will mean that we can start delivering the works on site in the next couple of months. As soon as we have an agreed start on site date with our contractor we will be in touch with more information.

Demolition Contractor Appointed
Together Housing is pleased to confirm that the company, DSR Demolition Ltd, will carry out demolition works on Shadsworth as part of the Place Shaping investment for your estate. DSR are an experienced demolition contractor who have carried out a lot of work on sites similar to this project.
They will be responsible for the demolition of 28 properties at Staffa Crescent. Before they begin these works, you may see some activity on the estate throughout March and April. This is because we work with utility providers to disconnect the buildings from gas, water, electric, and telecoms infrastructure before any demolition can take place.
DSR are due to start their work in April. When they begin on site, they will provide contact details for their site staff and site manager if you need to raise any concerns during this process. Anyone living in properties next to the demolition works will receive a letter from DSR confirming these details and the actions they will take to minimise any disruption.
It is planned that the demolition works at Shadsworth will take a total of 11 weeks, however this may be subject to change due to a need to co-ordinate the works with other activities. Together Housing and DSR will ensure that residents are kept informed should there be any changes.

Completion of Demolition of Gleneagles
Our contractor, The Casey Group, have completed the demolition of the Gleneagles housing scheme off Shetland Close
This was carried out after a number of years since the building has been vacant and has become an area for anti-social behaviour and disruptive activities.
We hope to be able to update you shortly on the exciting future plans for this space.
