FROM THE DESK OF CATHY HART
Dear Friends and Supporters, As we reflect on 2022, I am honored and humbled to share with you the impact Common Hope has made during this year. Your unwavering support and dedication has propelled us forward, enabling us to make significant strides in our mission to empower and uplift families and students in Guatemala. As we continued to emerge from the pandemic, we celebrated numerous program successes that serve as our source of inspiration. I am reminded of the profound words shared by a graduating student during the Guatemala graduation event in Antigua. Fredy, who is a testament to the transformative power of education, expressed his gratitude by saying: “Throughout my years in school, Common Hope has helped me reach my educational goals. The encouragement, support, and guidance from the social workers, the Educational Support Team, along with the visits and letters from my sponsors, have been invaluable. They’ve acted as guides, helping me choose my career track.” Fredy’s journey from graduating with a focus in accounting and computer sciences to his aspirations of pursuing advanced education in business administration embodies the essence of our mission. “It is my dream to manage a company that helps my community. I can give back by ensuring the businesses in our community are well managed,” he said. Fredy’s story mirrors the aspirations of many other students in our programs who strive for a better future. It is through collective efforts, with supporters like you, that we continue to sow the seeds of change and enable dreams to flourish. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to each of you who has played a pivotal role in supporting our goals. Your generosity, advocacy, and unwavering belief in our mission have transformed lives and paved the way for a brighter tomorrow. Looking ahead to the coming years, we stand committed to realizing our strategic goals, amplifying our impact, and being steadfast in our dedication to serve Guatemalan students and their families. With deepest appreciation and warm regards,
Cathy Hart Proud Interim Executive Director
