Bais ha'medrash bachurim, kollel yungerleit, and local ba'alei battim are encouraged to submit their chiddushim.

Only typed divrei torah will be accepted, and the deadline for submission is Rosh Chodesh Sivan. Each submission will be reviewed by a panel of Rav Aharon Sorscher, shlita, Rav Simcha Klein, shlita, and Rav Herschel Blumenfeld, shlita, prior to publication.

I advocate walking as one of the best forms of exercise.

If you walk consistently, you can help delay or prevent many of the complaints of aging - aches, pains and immobility. But walking also has more immediate health benefits: • • • • • • • •

Manage weight Improve mood and help ease depression Boost your immune system Maintain mental efficiency Strengthen your heart, lungs, and muscles Lower blood pressure and improve cholesterol levels Prevent osteoporosis and joint pain Build core strength

Once you‘ve gotten used to being a walker, challenge yourself with interval walking: Go as fast as you can for a full minute at a time. Try different intervals, lifting knees a bit higher for a few seconds or side step leading with R foot, then turn 180° and lead with L. Add arms overhead as one would do in jumping jacks, all for 10-20 seconds at a time, then return to regular walking.

The body responds well to unexpected and new cardio movements. HONEY BEER BREAD Ingredients: • 3 cups self-rising flour • 3 tablespoons sugar • 1/3 cup honey • 1 bottle (12 ounces) beer

Instructions: 1. Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, whisk flour and sugar. Stir in honey and beer just until moistened.

2. Transfer to a greased 8x4-in. loaf pan. Bake 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool. * You can add your favorite herbs or 1 or 2 minced garlic into the batter.
