Dear Fellow Community Member: We are very concerned that ardent anti-Zionist Rashida Tlaib might become our new Congressional Representative. YOU CAN HELP STOP THIS. THE UPCOMING AUGUST 2nd PRIMARY is our chance to vote Tlaib out of office. She has used her position as an elected official in the U.S. Congress to further antisemitism, as well as call for, and support, actions detrimental to Israel and Jewish security, including: ● Denouncing funding for Israel’s Iron Dome, libelously calling Israel an apartheid state.

● Introducing legislation commemorating “the Nakba” (“the catastrophe”), a reference to Israel’s very founding. Its anniversary is often marked by violent antisemitic attacks.

With the new redistricting, our voices and votes stand to make a real difference to the outcome of this election. If you live in Southfield or elsewhere in Michigan’s 12th Congressional District, you can help us by voting for the pro-Israel, pro-Jewish alternative

Janice Winfrey, on Tuesday August 2nd HOW TO MAKE YOUR VOTE COUNT:

● You must vote in the Democratic Primary and NOT the Republican Primary. In Michigan, you can only vote in one. Both parties’ primaries are on the same ballot, but if you vote in both primaries your vote will be invalidated and wasted. ● Many of us are not Democrats, but we are voting in the Democratic Primary because that is where our vote will have the most power to help Israel and decrease anti-Jewish rhetoric & legislation in Congress. The race will be decided by only a few thousand votes. ● If you will be away during the primary, register today to receive your absentee ballot: Michigan.gov/Vote or call 248-796-5150. Absentee ballots won’t be available in Southfield until July; you may request to have your absentee ballot sent to an address other than your home.

Janice Winfrey is the most viable candidate to defeat Rashida Tlaib. If you live in Southfield and surrounding areas in Michigan’s 12th Congressional District, please help our community

Vote in the Democratic primary for Janice Winfrey on August 2nd. Signed, Concerned Members of the Jewish Community NOT PAID FOR BY ANY CANDIDATE OR CANDIDATE COMMITTEE.

KEEP FIT AND WALK

by Sharon Green, CPT

Numerous risks are associated with spending too much time seated. Doctors and health professionals across the globe are concerned for our health and the health of our children because of sedentary behavior. A good starting point to combat these risks is to walk 3-5 times a week. Walking works almost all of our muscle groups, improves balance, and helps maintain a healthy heart. It’s what I call “self-preservation.” Mrs. Sharon Green is a certified personal trainer, senior fitness specialist, and group workout instructor through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, NASM. To join a group workout or to receive a free fitness assessment, call (248) 730-6006. cpr/aed/first aid & insured.
