BRINGING OUR NINE CORE ELEMENTS TO LIFE
Inspīr’s Nine Core Elements are designed to curate an environment and lifestyle that supports a philosophy of vibrant, intentional living. And at Inspīr Carnegie Hill, those core elements are brought to life through our programming partners. Our goal is to bring in new programs and perspectives from a variety of engagement partners to support our philosophy of care for the whole self.
What follows are some examples of how our partners enhance the Nine Core Elements at Inspīr Carnegie Hill.

FAMILY
Inspīr Carnegie Hill is home. Not only to our residents but also to their families. So, we offer weekly programming to keep those families connected. Offerings may include a mother-daughter yoga class, a concert or musical for grandparents and grandchildren to enjoy together, or even something as simple as a family meal in our private dining room. Whatever you need to keep your family connected, Inspīr Carnegie Hill can make it happen. Because there’s nothing stronger than the love and support of family.
ART + MUSIC

Inspīr Carnegie Hill partners with the Jewish Museum, located right in Carnegie Hill. Here, residents can take advantage of free membership to view the galleries of this beautiful and iconic art museum and repository of cultural artifacts. Oceana residents have the luxury of participating in JM Journeys, a guided program led by Jewish Museum educators, to explore existing works of art from their permanent collection, and to create their own versions of the masterpieces as well.
We also partner with Sing For Your Seniors (SFYS), a nonprofit organization that enriches lives through the universal language of music. This award-winning program allows professional performing artists to come together with seniors to entertain residents, foster intergenerational connections, and create shared joy among performers and participants during our Sunday Broadway brunch. For Oceana residents, the program also incorporates elements of reminiscence and music therapies to foster memory health.

At Inspīr Carnegie Hill, we believe that keeping our residents socially engaged is key to boosting their sense of belonging and self-esteem. So we incorporate numerous programs to enhance engagement. Thanks to our partnership with the New York Public Library system and Penguin Random House, book lovers can stay up-to-date on the nation’s most popular literature while also connecting with other residents doing just the same.
Engagement is also enhanced with family time. When the grandchildren visit, our residents have the opportunity to visit the Grand Canyon with them through virtual reality headsets from Rendever. It’s an experience residents will never forget, with their grandchildren by their side. And when the whole family visits, you can all take part in an engaging musical experience thanks to our Eversound headsets. No matter what you do together, family engagement is always encouraged and simply enhanced by our many programming partners.

BELONGING
We are dedicated to ensuring that the residents of Inspīr Carnegie Hill continue to feel like a part of the community, just as they did in the neighborhoods from where they moved. Residents are encouraged to join a variety of community clubs and organizations— walking, gardening, reading, bridge clubs, and more—to help connect like-minded residents with one another. Here, it is our goal to not only make every resident feel welcome but to make every resident feel like Inspīr Carnegie Hill is where they are meant to be.

PURPOSE
Studies show that longevity is credited to finding purpose in each day. When we say Inspīr residents live life with intention, it starts with that purpose. And at Inspīr Carnegie Hill, our associates get to know each resident on a personal level, so we can ensure that the specific activities that bring joy to their lives are incorporated into every day.

Perhaps they have longed to learn ballroom dancing. We’re ready to arrange lessons in the residence for them. Or, maybe they love to travel. We have weekly discussions on travel and the world around us, which includes photo essays, documentaries, and more. Simply put, we build all the experiences residents need to ensure each day has purpose, no matter what.
MOVEMENT + MOBILITY
Movement is such a vital part to care for the whole self. We partner with Namaste Wellness to offer daily signature fitness classes. In addition, SPEAR Physical Therapy offers in-house physical therapy for all residents. Each day, residents have the option to start with a stretch or a yoga-inspired class. We also offer more active classes in the afternoon, whether it is Zumba, Barre, strength training, and so much more.
Our pool and state-of-the-art fitness center, featuring Technogym equipment, give residents the ability to choose how they move, and enjoy doing it. Whether it’s a water aerobics class in the pool or an instructed, guided workout in the fitness center, movement and mobility are always at the forefront to keep residents active and engaged.
BRAIN HEALTH
You’re never too old to continue learning. At Inspīr Academy, residents are encouraged to engage in academic-style courses, offered in 4–6-weeklong sessions. Residents can take a course on art history, learn how to speak French, or build their understanding of the intricacies of foreign policy. Studies show that learning new skills, taking a class, teaching a class, and engaging in conversation with others is highly effective in maintaining and building brain health. That’s why, at Inspīr Carnegie Hill, brain health is one of our core values, and is interwoven into residents’ everyday experiences.

NATURE
Nature is everywhere you look at Inspīr Carnegie Hill. The second-floor garden terrace and the 17th floor SkyPark feature year-round gardens that residents can tend to. We’re also close to a variety of local parks around New York, such as Carl Schurz Park and the beautiful Central Park, and we’re only a short trip to the famed New York Botanical Garden. We also encourage residents to learn about gardening or the art of flower arranging through our horticultural programs. It’s an enriching experience for all residents, but for Oceana and Terra residents specifically, horticulture is a therapeutic experience that engages all five senses. Though it may seem like nature is far away, at Inspīr Carnegie Hill, it’s all around us.

Laughter is key at Inspīr Carnegie Hill. Our team is trained, through program partner Laughter on Call, to integrate laughter therapeutically into everyday practice while also having the ability to incorporate improv techniques into daily programming. We also provide weekly improv classes for residents who are looking to achieve their dream of performing in front of an audience. Inspīr Academy offers a stand-up comedy workshop, assisting residents in polishing their craft and allowing them the opportunity to take the stage. It’s important for us to be able to bring joy to the lives of our residents, but we also recognize how important it is for residents to utilize laughter for themselves and their peers.
