FALL FAMILY DAY AT CULTIVATING DREAMS FARM Families and groups were invited to spend a fun-filled day at Cultivating Dreams Farm to enjoy traditional fall festivities. The farmhouse was decorated with the tidings of autumn and the field was alive with activities. People cheered on their friends during ghost bowling, the candy corn ring toss, and scooping for apples. Learning about Brian Dallas Field's amazing therapy doves and dog, Buck, made for an engaging end to the day.

NEW PROGRAM: RESPITE CARE AT CULTIVATING DREAMS FARM CBS now offers an engaging and innovative Site Based Respite care at Cultivating Dreams Farm for families in need of support during afternoons, evenings, and even weekends.

The program is designed to bridge the gap between the ending of a day program and when the caregiver arrives home from work. On the weekends, Site Based Respite offers a much-needed break for families by providing an engaging experience for their loved ones. Read more...

EMPLOYEES OF THE YEAR Milton Murdock and Sheryl Brown-Lewis both have the honor of being named the 2021 CBS Employee of the Year. Through a secret ballot vote, direct support staff from CBS programs have recognized Milton and Sheryl for their exemplary work in promoting the agency’s mission. In all that they do, Milton and Sheryl provide the people they support with the best quality of life through residential and community-based opportunities.

GROUP DAY HAB IN THE COMMUNITY November is a time of gratitude and with that in mind, the people in the Group Day Habilitation program collected donations of warm coats and food that where distributed in the local communities. The Thanksgiving Food Drive benefited Patterson Community Church and residents of Broad Street delivered coats to Good Will.

Recognized each September at CBS, DSP Week highlights the dedicated and innovative team members who are the backbone of supporting persons with special needs. The importance of a DSP’s ability to develop a trusting relationship with a person receiving support cannot be overstated. These relationships, forged by the DSP’s genuine care for another person, create the opportunity for persons with special needs to share and achieve their hopes, dreams, and goals.
