Left: sales offices for Malibu East, a new lakefront condominium constructed by Dunbar Builders. The project encompassed interior design, a theater, slide presentation, displays, signage and supporting graphic materials. The sculpture is of bending birch, painted, and some surfaces coated with mylar. Right: annual report for American Reserve Corporation, a financial and insurance holding company. Below: a combination Christmas card and moving announcement written and designed for Wallace Stenhouse, preside_nt of American Reserve.

" Stevie" was written and illustrated by John Steptoe. His illustrations for this book earned him a Gold Medal from the Society of Illustrators . Donald Crews wrote and illustrated " Ten Black Dots." He also designed the cover for "Across the Pacific" (below). Josephine Jones was the designer for the other two book covers illustrated below.

BLACK ARTISTS

Seldon Dix, Jr. created an unfamiliar Statue of Liberty by combing a Bourke-White photo of the statue with a photo of a Black woman's face by Gordon Parks. Dix was also the designer for the doll's face cover, and he was the photographer for the other cover. Philip Draggan was an associate designer for the Seatrain Lines, Inc. annual report. Oraston Brooks-£/ designed "No f.xit."
