The ION 300F X-ray system is compact and low-weight, with a separate tube head and control unit, and it can be mounted in any orientation, making it easy to integrate.
Its alignment features ensure smooth and precise alignment with other system components, and the built-in safety setup supports easy integration into any overall system safety concept.
The ION tube head, and control unit modules can be exchanged without the need for specialized training, thus ensuring maximum uptime.
Speed and accuracy
Reproducibility and constant kV levels
The ION 300F X-ray system delivers speed, accuracy, and reproducibility, critical parameters for scanning applications for imaging and material discrimination.
The system's temperature compensation ensures that kV levels are within the specification for the ambient temperature range. The ramp-up to maximum kV in 1 second increases overall system efficiency during cyclic operation.
Industrial control unit
Advanced and precise control
CONTROL ION, the compact control unit, is highly efficient and easy to integrate. It operates with a power input voltage range of 90–264 VAC without any effect on X-ray output stability.
The advanced control unit ensures full operational control of the X-ray system, including automatic run-in procedure, X-ray control, X-ray monitoring, X-ray safety, and diagnostic handling.
Run-in is automatically calculated and intelligently managed by the control unit to ensure safe procedure for stable and reliable system performance.
High connectivity
Remote access and diagnostic features
The control unit has Ethernet, RS232, and USB communication ports for interaction with other devices via the remote interface.
The high connectivity ensures many future options, for example, preventive and predictive maintenance, by providing access to diagnostic features.

Mounting in any orientation
Easy to integrate and mount
Space constraints or application demands may require mounting of the X-ray tube head in different orientations.
The 3 Ø 8.5 mm mounting holes in the end-flanges at each end of the tube head makes the ION 300F system mountable in any orientation, as long a sufficient airflow is secured.
The hot standby
Fast ramp-up is vital for efficiency
An idle mode keeps the filament at a specific temperature, allowing for a fast ramp-up to max kV and mA.
The idle point setting is 33 kV / 100 µA and is supervised internally by the hardware. If the hot standby mode drifts outside the defined limits, the X-ray system will automatically shut down.
The hot standby mode can only be activated and maintained if the interlock and external lamp safety constraints are fulfilled.
Built-in safety setup
The safety system include a two-channel interlock system and a monitored external lamp
The safety system is hardware-based and is designed to meet Performance level D, category 4, in accordance with EN 13049-1, Safety of machinery.
The ION complies with the standard EN 61010-2-091 requirements for cabinet X-ray systems.
Alignment & adaption
Easy alignment when integrating into other systems
The ION 300F tube head is easy to align thanks to the focal spot indicator, ensuring smooth and accurate positioning in relation to other system components.
The ION 300F system is flexible and adaptable, able to meet individual requirements, thus maximizing customer value.

The ION tube head has an outstanding thermal performance thanks to its unique cooling principle.
The air is forced along the electronic module, the tube tank, and the anode cooler, ensuring active cooling of the entire tube head, which supports long term exposures.
The temperature ranges of the system are specified to be between -10°C to +40°C.

A new branch of the family
ION /ˈʌɪən / noun:
An atom or molecule with a net electric charge due to the loss or gain of one or more electrons "hydrogen ions”.
ION
Another 3-letter word – that ties in with our naming convention, EVO etc. It’s easy to pronounce and and conjures up associations with science and technology. Probably because its literal meaning is an atom or molecule with a net electric charge due to the loss or gain of one or more electrons.
Additionally, from a purely phonetic point of view, ION can be heard as “eye on” – as in “keep a close eye on”, which adds an extra layer of meaning to the name.
