This booklet will explore photography that will examine fonts, lettering and various type that is found in and around Vancouver/BC, Canada.
The city of vancouver is full of inspiration and my purpose was to investigate Marketing and Merchandising as a theme. My adventures began to capturie photographs of lettering found in the Vancouver area, touring the city to shopping
markets squares and malls where I got most of my images from
signage, posters advertising, products and buildings and more.
Classification - Geometric San-Serif
This lettering is from the Vancouver Flee Market, the type is painted on the side of the building in white with a black undershadow giving it debth. The “O” is perfectly round and compliments the roundess of the other letters.
Classification - Handwriting Script
This is the signage for "A Bread Affair" painted on the side
of a building, I focused on the A because of the uniqueness and free flowing form of the text.

The word happy really feels playful with its loops and circular movements compliment the text.
Classification - Script
This "N" was taken from the word HAPPINESS in capitals. It is in yellow that brings a feeling of sunshine and joy.

This "E" was made out from five rectangles in alternating colors white and red. This is a good example of an abstract letter.
Classification - Transitional
This poster was hanging in the window of a store, the word
“SALE” is very prominent in the way the poster was designed.
Classification - Grotesque San-Serif
This is the “S” from CHACHI’S sign in the food court. The sans serif font is clean and simple in design using the name as the branding logo.

This "POP ROCK" embossed letters found in a music store, dividing music genres in the record section.
Classification - Geometric San-Serif
This was from a book store, the words "COOL BEANS" caught
my attention.with the black and white contrast this is where my eye is drawn. The word "SOUTH" is dominant as well.

This was a huge mural painted on a wall wall hylighting the letter "O" and is placed randomly along with the letter "A".

This "C" was found on a t-shirt, I focused on this letter be-
cause it is obvious of the unsemetrical lines and bumpy finish.

This tag was on a stem of flowers, this is a script font that mymics handwriting.

The photo captured is of a poster series for sale in a store.

The popcorn container caught my eye on the self of a store, it
uses the word popcorn in bright red type with a bubble effect.

This was from Granville Island Market a tourist attraction in
Vancouver. This neon red sign grabs attention with the boldness of the letters.
