This geometric sans serif is seen on a poster glued to a lamp post on Main street at 22nd. It greatly resembles the typeface Touche in Bold. None of the letters surpass the x-height, making it a very short, symmetrical, square font. This type is adverstising a fitness app for pregnant individuals.

This geometric sans serif type was found on a poster glued to a lamp post on Main street near 18th. It is part of a larger poster advertising “culture days”, an event in Vancouver happening this fall. Created in Sugo Pro Classic Regular, the type is only used in all-caps on this poster. This shows the long rectangular shape of the letters.

Features: Straight “R” leg • Flat “A” apex

This grotesque sans serif was found on 19th just off of Main Street. It is part of a larger display of posters outlining social programs and discussing police brutality. The posters use Neue Helvetica Pro 87 Condensed Heavy to represent an important message.

Features: Curved “R” leg • Vertical axis • Gradual transition • Flat “A” apex • Vertical spur on “G”

This type was found advertising a comedy club on a lamp post on Main and 19th. This display humanist sans serif is very reminiscent of New Jonesy Latin Rough, however the capital leg of the R is curved on the poster, and straigvht in the previously mentioned typeface.

The type seen on the poster is very playful.

This transitional Roman serif type was found on on Main and 22nd, and is part of a larger poster advertising real estate in Vancouver. It is written in the typeface Baskerville, representing an elegant and simple experience.

Features: Very sharp and refined serifs • Horizontal “e” crossbar • Double storey “a” • Ball terminals

This funky display, humanist sans serif was found on a poster advertising a sale for a skateboard shop. The geometric edges create a skeleton-like geometric look. The poster was found on Main street and 22nd.

Features: Vertical axis • Flat “A” apex • Medium contrast • Gradual transition • Abrupt terminals

Looking for a night of laughs?

This grotesque display sans serif type was found advertising a comedy night on a lamp post on Main and 19th. It uses Alternate Gothic Bold to advertise the evening.

Features: Horizonal “e” crossbar • High contrast • Double storey “a”

This grotesque, display sans serif was found advertising a distribution, printing and poster design company named “the Poster Guy”. It was found on Main and 22nd, and uses the typeface Plakette Serial.

Features: Vertical “G” spur • Vertical axis • Medium contrast

This simple geometric sans serif was found on a poster advertising the Vancouver Book Fair. This is part of a longer text detailing the exhibitors participating in the event. The text is typed in Proxima Nova Regular.

Features: Tall x-height • No contrast • No axis • Horizontal “e” crossbar

This simple geometric sans serif text was found along Main street and 18th. The text is describing the “culture days” event happening in Vancouver this fall. It is a readable paragraph set in a large size of Guerrer Medium.

Features: Horizontal “e” crossbar • The “c” is almost a perfect circle • Double storey “a” • Tall x height • No contrast
