A typewalk around Ladner, and the classifications.
Ladner has a very unique look compared to the rest of the Greater Vancouver area due to how isolated it is. Much of it has been renovated over the years, but in order to suit Hollywood's needs, its old west aesthetic has been retained in the town centre. The rest of the town has continued to be renovated to suit modern times. The types from the new side of town, versus the film side of town reflect this.

Effectra Geometric Sans Serif
This type was found outside the newly renovated highschool. It is the newest building in the town. The type is a sans-serif, and every letter has the same X-height, and width. Freehand Script Sans Serif

Uptown Display Sans Serif
This type was found on a woodcut sign in front of a suburban housing complex. The type is condensed and could be classiďŹ ed as Review JNL Geometric or display due to it's geometric shapes and its rather decorative The type is found on a appearance. sign outside a early 2010s housing complex. The type is bold against a bright blue background and expresses the energy of a friendly suburb. The letters appear playfully squished.
Another typeface cut into wood with a geometric shape. The sign isn't overly large but it stands out well. It's located in front of a seniors centre. The curves on the lettering are blocky, yet smooth and have a very unique look to them. The feet of the letters are rounded too.
A rather funky looking Italian restaurant in the heart of Ladner Village. The restaurant is new, but was made to mimic the style of the area. The Axis is slanted subtly, and the serifs are small and sharp, as per its gothic style. The type has a drop shadow.
This sign was in front of one of Ladner's many Heritage homes. The type is italicized, and is a serif font. The type is rather pretty, and the line weight varries throughout the letter. The type was cut into wood and painted in white.
This type was made to mimic a hand written script. It's a serif font, and a pretty one at that. This type was found next to another Heritage home in the heart of the town, and also belongs to one of Ladner's many dental ofďŹ ces. The sign describes the ofďŹ ce, and the Garden it sits in.
Located at the entrance to the main historic village. this type. The style is very classic, and is rather beďŹ tting of the Historic town. The Type is a Transitional Serif. The axis is almost verticle, and has a mix of thin and thick stokes. The Serifs fairly horizontal.
This type is found on one of the tallest buildings in the Historic Ladner Village and looks down upon the main square. This is one of the oldest buildings in the town. The type is a modern serif font and has very square serifs. The axis is verticle. The type looks great as a title piece.
