Dear Friend, We are in the second year of the National Eucharistic Revival (June 2023–June 2024). It’s a time when we are all encouraged to celebrate the great mystery of the Eucharist. The upcoming events and initiatives throughout the archdiocese are opportunities for us to continue to learn about the importance of the Eucharist and about God’s care for each of us. This weekend, from October 20-22, the bishops of the State of New York are hosting a state-wide Eucharistic Congress at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Martyrs in Auriesville, New York. The Congress will feature talks from renowned speakers, Mass, Eucharistic adoration, inspiring music, and more. Discovering Christ is for anyone who is curious. Over the course of seven weeks, we’ll serve you a delicious catered dinner, and then you will hear interesting and thought-provoking talks that are designed to explore the meaning and purpose of your life. After each talk, you will get a chance to share your thoughts in a small group. You can talk as much or as little as you wish and it’s all done in a warm, friendly and judgement-free environment! During our fourteen Educate—Encourage—Engage Meet and Greet Meetings held during this past pastoral year throughout the Archdiocese of New York, the initiative that received the most attention was Strong Catholic Families / Fortaleciendo Familias en la Fe sponsored by the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry (NFCYM). Strong Catholic Families will be the foundation for working with families throughout the Archdiocese promoted and supported by the Office of Family Life in conjunction with other departments and offices.
