Activities Week: Year 7 Beaumanor Hall July 14th - 18th 2014

Beaumanor Hall • Located by the Leicestershire village of Woodhouse • About 2 hours in a coach from CVC

Plan for arrival and departure • Arrive as you normally would (bus or car recommended for luggage) for the school day.

• Deliver your bags to the lecture room or dining hall • You will be told coach groups the week before we leave • You will be allocated a registration room where you will be given your daily timetable for your group • Depart on Friday arrive at school in time for the school buses (update on twitter)

Twitter CVC_class_2013 • Your parents can follow us on twitter to see what we are doing and when we will get back to school on the Friday. • This has been used for other social activities throughout the year as well.

Activities • 7 activities on rotation; 1 in morning and 1 in afternoon • Climbing, Canoeing, Orienteering, High Ropes, Abseiling, Archery, Walking, Problem Solving • CVC staff are with a group during the day;

Sleeping arrangements • Tents – Boys camp and Girls camp divided by a path down the middle • Cabins – Breakfast and hot choc in cabins too

Camping • Setting up… and putting down…

• Tent Inspections – keep it clean!

• Rules on campsite – Only allowed in your tent (lots of boring chores available) – Respect other people’s stuff – 10:30pm lights out and quiet • Hygiene – Dirty and wet clothes separate – Toilet block and showers: respect facilities • Safety – Guy ropes will be everywhere!

Clothing • Weather is not guaranteed!

• Double check the kit list • Sensible footwear - must be worn!

What not to bring…

• No Mobile phones or electronic devices • Straighteners etc. unnecessary!

• £10 spending money MAX

Forms • Pupil Medical details • Medicine MUST be handed to coach leader or Mr Southcoat on the morning of the trip • Consent form • Payment • All Due!
