Worthington celebrates autumn with colorful crafts and concessions of Market Day Autumn shows its colors in Worthington each September as trees on the Village Green take on bright hues – and Worthington’s downtown streets also come alive with color on Market Day. The annual daylong festival, presented by the Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce, will be held this year on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

On Market Day, Worthington visitors and residents can enjoy a colorful array of arts and crafts vendors, food and farm products, community group fundraisers and family fun. You are invited to ‌

• Browse and buy handcrafted items from 200 arts and crafts vendors and community groups along High Street (US 23), from State Route 161 south to the intersection of High and South streets. Market Day vendor booths are open 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., rain or shine. • Shop local! Many of Worthington’s popular downtown restaurants — including The Worthington Inn, Harold’s American Grill, Rivage Atlantique and The Back Room, Jet’s Pizza and Dewey’s Pizza — will have Market Day food booths on the street, as well as full-menu, sit-down service at their establishments. Popular food trucks are located primarily near the south end of the event area, and a host of caterers, sandwich shops and other food providers are sprinkled along the event route. Thirsty? Stop at the Chamber information booth for water and soft drinks, as well as water and treats for your dog. • Enjoy family entertainment throughout the day at community group and sponsor booths offering children’s and family activities. Thomas Worthington High School bands will perform at noon on the northwest Village Green. • Get smart – and get samples. Product

demonstrations, giveaways and information are provided at many of the community group booths and the sponsor exhibits. • Take a break. Put your feet up on the free shuttles providing transportation to the event area from the parking lot at Thomas Worthington High School. Relax during your shopping; bring your lunch or snacks, or meet your friends, at the canopied rest area, the AAA Hospitality Center on W. New England Avenue and High Street.

It adjoins the chamber event headquarters, where you’ll find event directories, maps, visitor information, bottled water and soft drinks, and water and treats for pets. • Hunt for bargains, books and antiques at community partner activities. The Old Worthington Partnership and its participating merchants will showcase products at a sidewalk sale. On the southeast Village Green, the Worthington Historical Society will conduct its popular annual antique/

flea market activity.

At Old Worthington Library, 820 High St., the annual Market Day book sale from the Friends Foundation of Worthington Libraries will be under way from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Parking and shuttle information Event parking is available at Thomas Worthington High School, 300 W. Dublin-Granville Road.  Free and convenient shuttle service is offered for visitors and vendors from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The shuttles travel continuous routes from the high school to parking lots at The Worthington Inn and the Griswold Center — both just steps away from the heart of the event.

The shuttles are provided by Cambria Suites Columbus/Polaris, City of Worthington (Griswold Center), Danbury of Columbus, Four Points by Sheraton, Homewood Suites Worthington, Kiddie Academy, The Laurels of Norworth and The Laurels of Worthington, Wesley Glen Retirement Community and Willow Brook Christian Home.

Limited parking also is available at the United Methodist Church via Hartford Street, and at the Worthington Municipal Parking Lot west of High Street behind The Worthington Inn. The municipal parking lot on E. New England Avenue is reserved for handicapped parking only during the event.
