Downtown Worthington comes alive Sept. 21 with annual Market Day traditions Welcome to Market Day – an annual day-long festival presented by the Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce. On Market Day 2013, Saturday, Sept. 21, the streets of downtown Worthington will come alive with a colorful array of arts and crafts, food and farm vendors, community group exhibits and family fun. Be sure to sample all that Market Day has to offer, including: • Approximately 200 arts and crafts vendors, community groups and downtown merchants along High Street (SR 23), from SR 161 south to South Street, and on the Village Green.

Vendor booths are open 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., rain or shine. Use this guide to find alphabetic listings of the exhibitors, arranged by category (sponsors, arts and crafts, community groups, food and farm products, and restaurants and snack concessions). The booth number of each vendor precedes the alphabetic listing. The map on page 4 can help you locate the booths.

• Snacks and meals from area restaurants, farms and food concessionaires. Restaurant and snack concessions are located throughout the exhibit areas. Although Worthington’s weekly Farmers Market is closed on Market Day, you’ll find selected farmfresh products from Farmers Market vendors on the southwest Village Green and at the intersection of High Street and E. New England Avenue.

• Family entertainment throughout the day. Look for children’s activities and programs from the Worthington Parks & Recreation Department on the southeast Village Green.

• Product demonstrations, giveaways and information, provided at many of the community and school group booths and the sponsor exhibits.

Look for the Friends Foundation of Worthington Libraries book sale on the southwest Village Green. Across the street, on the southeast Village Green, the Worthington Historical Society will conduct its popular annual antique/ flea market activity.

• Local charm and hospitality. Many of Worthington’s unique downtown shops offer special sales or seasonal merchandise for Market Day shoppers.

Tempting treats are available at downtown restaurants. Visiting the area? Extend your stay! Stop at the Chamber booth, #236, to learn which area hotels offer discounts to Market Day visitors.

Getting around on Market Day Event parking is available at Thomas Worthington High School, 300 W. Dublin-Granville Road, west of Evening Street. A free shuttle service will run from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The shuttles will travel back and forth routes from the high school to parking lots at The Worthington Inn and the Griswold Center, both just steps away from the heart of the event. Limited parking also is available at the United Methodist Church via Hartford Street, and at the Worthington Municipal Parking Lot west of High Street behind The Worthington Inn. The municipal

parking lot on E. New England Avenue is reserved for handicapped parking only during the event.

The event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014, rain or shine, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Does your craft, community group or food concession belong at Market Day?
