UA Area Chamber celebrates its 450member businesses Hop on the “business train” for the annual Upper Arlington Chamber of Business Awards Celebration March 2 at the University Plaza Hotel. Uniquely planned, the event will welcome attendees with a train station experience as they arrive. Attendees will hear the prominent sound of train whistles and feel the wind in their faces as they cut through the steam to get on board. After “boarding,” attendees will travel through the Upper Arlington area making various stops to visit with members and pick up the a ward winners along the way. “We are thrilled to bring back our annual event with a fresh theme,” said Becky Hajost, president of the Upper Arlington Chamber of Commerce. “This year, we want to emphasize the business expo and social. We would love to see members from the UA community celebrating the success of their neighbors. The event will be one to remember.” Not only is there the anxiously awaited annual awards presentation and dinner, but there is also the business expo and social that the public is encouraged to attend to network, visit with friends and neighbors and support the local commerce of Upper Arlington. Attendees can peruse the silent auction and w alk away with impressive prizes. Take Five Jazz Quintet will provide musical entertainment throughout the business expo and social. The business expo and social is free for the public to attend. All attendees are encouraged to purchase a ticket to the awards presentation and dinner to celebrate the success of small business owners in Upper Arlington. Tickets for the annual chamber celebration dinner are available for $50 per person. The winners of the 2011 chamber awards will be announced as the train picks

them up along the way to the presentation and dinner. Attendees will have the chance to meet and congratulate the finalists for the following categories: • Small Business Award • Medium Business Award • Large Business Award • W. Arthur Cullman Business Person of the Year Award • Jeanne E. Schaal Contributing Member of the Year Award • 2011 Best Place to Work in Upper Arlington Area • Young Professional Business Leader of the Year Award “The nominations have been spectacular this year,” Hajost said. “It’s wonderful how much the UA community members value the local UA businesses.” After the awards presentation and dinner, dessert, an open bar and entertainment will close out the night of celebration in the University Plaza Hotel atrium until 10 p.m. To reserve a display for the business expo, purchase a Chamber Celebration ticket, donate an item to the silent auction or for other sponsorship inquiries, call the chamber office at 614-481-5710 or visit the Web site at www.uachamber.org.
