UA Chamber: Something for everyone at the 22nd Annual Taste of UA!

The Upper Arlington Chamber of Commerce will host the 22nd Annual Taste of Upper Arlington on Thursday, Aug. 6 from 3:30 to 8:30 p.m. Once again, the event will take place at Northam Park located at 2070 Northam Road. The presenting sponsor this year is Wright-Patt Credit Union.

The Taste of UA gets bigger and better every year—it truly has become a “tradition” for the Upper Arlington community. This year the UA Chamber will continue this great tradition with new attractions and something for everyone.

Kicking things off on the stage this year will be local DJ, Ryan Smith. With Ryan’s eclectic playlist, all of your friends and family will be tapping their feet! Ryan will showcase music from every genre including: Hip-Hip, Country, Rock & Roll, and the Top 40 Chart to name a few. If you are interested in learning more about DJ Ryan Smith, check out his website: www. ryansmithdj.com This year’s stage will also showcase local band, Temple Monkey, for the second year in a row! The members of Temple Monkey all have a love for classic rock, blues and R&B. Their love and enthusiasm for these genres of music is evident in their performances, as they feel new and fresh. Band members include: lead singer, Charlie Bleak, Jim Lynch, Bill Lutz, Craig Pataky and Bill Wyatt. This year will also showcase some great food! The food judging will start at 5, and will end no later than 6 p.m. Three winners will be announced in the following categories: Appetizer, Entrée and Dessert.

The winners will be announced from the main stage at 7 p.m. Last year, the judging panel was packed with local celebrities, and this year will be no different! Joining our judges this year will be professional basketball player and former Ohio State point guard, Aaron Craft. Craft holds the record for the most steals in Ohio State basketball history, he is known for great passing and his low number of turnovers.

Craft led the buckeyes to numerous Sweet 16, Elite 8, and Final Four appearances!

Former Ohio State linebacker, Bobby Carpenter will also join Craft as a guest

celebrity judge. As a first round NFL Draft pick, Carpenter played for the Dallas Cowboys, Miami Dophins, Detroit Lions and the New England Patriots.

The Celebrity Food judging is open to the public—many of the celebrities will be available afterwards for pictures and autographs, including Aaron Craft and Bobby Carpenter. The Celebrity Food Judging tent is sponsored by Anthem.

Additionally, the Chamber will be hosting the 2015 Taste of UA pre-party on Wednesday, Aug. 5 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Northam Park. In its second year, Music Under the Stars will showcase a great selection and variety of food from local UA restaurants, and a premium list of fine wines. There will also be a musical performance from Chamber member, Massa Music Studios that is sure to be a big hit! Massa Music Studios is under the direction of UA Chamber member, Jamie Massa. A big special thank you to PNC Bank for sponsoring this event for the second year in a row!
