UA Chamber: Keeping an eye on your future at the Taste of UA

The Upper Arlington Area Chamber of Commerce will host the 21st Annual Taste of UA Aug. 7 from 3:30 to 8:30 p.m. Attendees please check in at the Chamber tent. “The event gets bigger and better every year,” said Charlie Groezinger, owner of SGO Designer Glass, and in his 6th year as chairman of the Taste of UA. Among the offerings new at this year’s Taste, is a special “Music Under the Stars” being held Wednesday evening, August 6 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The Upper Arlington High School Orchestra will entertain Chamber members and their guests. Ed Zunic, the orchestra director and his students, recently traveled abroad to Beijing, China. Attendees will share in an evening filled with food, wine and music. Space is limited. To register please visit www.uachamber.org. Special thanks to PNC Bank for sponsoring “Music Under the Stars”. For more information please contact the chamber at (614) 481-5710. At the main event Thursday, attendees will have the opportunity to visit with vendors by checking in at the Chamber tent to travel the Premier Path. By participating in the 2nd Annual Premier Path, participants will have the chance to win an overnight weekend stay downtown, free tickets to one of two major

sporting events, and/or possibly an all-inclusive trip. Yard Solutions is sponsoring the Bier Garten this year, and organizers plan to expand the space within Northam Park near the Chamber tent to accommodate event goers. The Daily Growler will provide local specialty craft beer. All adults welcome and IDs are required. This year’s event will showcase the band Mr. Lucky. Mr. Lucky plays a lively mixture of Blues Rock along with some classic covers and originals. Band members include: C.P. Delk on electric guitar and vocals, Mark Riegel on harmonica and vocals, Dave Behrens on bass, and Dave Horsky on drums. The members of Temple Monkey all have a love of the great songs (classic rock, blues and R & B) that have stood the test of time. Yet because of their love of the music and the enthusiasm that they bring to the performances, they make it feel new and fresh. They will also be performing original material written by Charlie Bleak. Visit them at www.templemonkeyband.com. Band members include: Charlie Bleak, Jim Lynch, Bill Lutz, Craig Pataky and Bill Wyatt. Their lead singer is Charlie Bleak and their keyboard/business manager is Bill Lutz. We are happy to announce that the Buckeye Mobile Tour will return

Enjoy Mr. Lucky’s (pictured above) lively mixture of Blues Rock, as well as the classic and enthusiastic sounds of Temple Monkey at this year’s Taste event. again this year, and bring with them Ohio State-themed games and inflatables that are sure to generate a lot of excitement. Vendor judging will take place at 5:30 p.m., with a celebrity-packed crew of judges awarding first, second and third place honors to the best appetizers, entrées and desserts. Returning to the event once again … will be the Special Community Judge, who will be drawn prior to the Taste. Alison Betchel, Director of Marketing, of perennial Taste of UA favorite City Barbeque, has been part of the event since their start. City BBQ made a presence at the Taste before

they even had their store front. “It was always a big gathering of friends and community people, something we always looked forward to,” said Alison, adding that the Taste has grown immensely in the last 21 years. It was instrumental in helping launch City Barbeque, which owners founded in 1999. “We wanted the community to know where they could get the best BBQ around and we brought it to the Taste of UA. It was awesome. People loved it.” “The Upper Arlington community is amazing, said Hajost, president of the UA Chamber. “Ev-
