Alex Fischer to speak at Chamber luncheon Sept. 16 Alex Fischer, president and CEO of the Columbus Partnership will be the speaker for the Friday, Sept. 16, chamber luncheon at the Heritage Golf Club, 3525 Heritage Club Drive in Hilliard. The Columbus Partnership, is a civic organization of Columbus, Ohio's top business leaders formed in 2002 to improve the economic and cultural base of Central Ohio. Fischer has helped to spearhead the Columbus2020! Project, a comprehensive economic development strategy for the region to grow 180,000 net new jobs, increase personal in-

come by 40 percent, and make Columbus a top ten city in economic development in the nation. Columbus2020! is focused on Alex Fischer four core pillars of economic development: 1. Retain and expand the companies and industries that call Central Ohio home today.

2. Attract major employers to establish operations in Central Ohio. 3. Create more commercial enterprises by leveraging the region’s research assets and entrepreneurs. 4. Improve the civic infrastructure and political conditions that enhance the economic development environment. Hilliard Women in Business

Sept. 20 luncheon to feature Maj. Gen. Deborah A. Ashenhurst Adjutant General Maj. Gen. Deborah A. Ashenhurst will be the speaker for the Sept. 20 Hilliard Women in Business luncheon. Maj. Gen. Ashenhurst assumed the post on Jan. 10, 2011, as the 81st Ohio adjutant general, Ohio’s first female adjutant general and the first female general officer for the Ohio National Guard. She currently oversees the five brigades of the Ohio Army National Guard, four wings and eight geograph-
