Taste of Hilliard & Business Expo: August 8 Come hungry on August 8 to the Makoy Center, 5462 Center Street, for the Taste of Hilliard & Business Expo from 4:30 to 7:30 pm. Thirty restaurants will be participating and 50 businesses will be on hand so you can visit and learn which locally owned businesses are able to assist you personally and professionally. Cash admission of $15 for adults and $5 for ages 10 and under gets you in to taste and vote in the People’s Judging contests for best pizza, appetizer, entrée, dessert and ice cream! The Kiwanis Club of Hilliard will have a free “Kids’ Space” with lots of activities, games and service projects to give parents a chance to enjoy the expo. Hilliard Kiwanis Club The Hilliard Kiwanis Club is part of a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time. The Hilliard Kiwanis Club is dedicated to serving the local community through various service and fundraising projects. The club is comprised of men and women in business, education, and retirees that want to help make a difference in their community while enjoying the fellowship of the organization. The club meets in the evening on the second and fourth Thursdays of every month. We offer both corporate and individual memberships. TEDxHilliard on August 15 TEDxHilliard will be held on Wednesday, August 15 at Hilliard Bradley Performing Arts Center, 2800 Walker Road. Doors open at 5 p.m. Speaker and artist presentations begin at 6 p.m. and end at 9:30 p.m. The theme for this year’s event is “Pathways.” Hilliard Chamber members can save $10 on the price of admission by going through our website, www.hilliardchamber.org. This will be a great event, so don’t miss it!

Graduates Received Hollyfest Foundation Scholarships Some Hilliard graduates of 2018 received special recognition by the Hollyfest Scholarship Foundation sponsored by the Hilliard Area Chamber of Commerce. Hilliard Darby winners were Shannon Devitt for the $2,000 scholarship and Taryn Graves-Rogers for the $8,000 scholarship. Shannon will be attending Bowling Green State University and Taryn will attend Ohio Wesleyan University. The recipients at Hilliard Bradley were Lauren Baltimore who was still undecided where she will attend for the $8,000 scholarship and Cameron Jenkins who will go to the OSU for the $2,000 scholarship. Avonna Boysel, a Hilliard Davidson graduate, was awarded the $8,000 scholarship and Jack Brown, also of Hilliard Davidson, was awarded the $2,000 scholarship. Avonna will be attending the University of Toledo and Jack will be attending OSU. Payton Senter from Hilliard Darby and Tolles Career & Technical Center will be attending Columbus State to use her $1000 award. Congratulations and best wishes to all of these scholarship recipients! To date, the amount given to graduates of Hilliard Schools is over $500,000!
