an assignment that evolved into working with Columbus2020. She conducted countless BRE— business retention and expansion—visits, interviewing employers about their workforce challenges, connecting them to resources, and recommending solutions to address their talent needs. She
then jumped over to the nonprofit side to provide leadership to workforce agencies that serve job seekers. She is sought after not only for her understanding of workforce and workforce policy, but because of her business perspective— she understands how business works and what businesses need.
The Art of Negotiation Luncheon RESCHEDULED Due to a gas leak at the venue, we have rescheduled the January Hilliard Women in Business luncheon. The new date is February 20th, at the Reception House at Raymond Memorial by Schmidt’s , from 11:30am to 1:00pm. Back by popular demand, attorney Bea Wolper will present The Art of Negotiation, loosely based on Sun Tzu’s “The Art of War.” Why? Because women are far less likely than men to negotiate at work, which typically costs women more than half a million dollars in earnings over the course of their respective
careers! Come prepared to learn tips and tricks to better—and more confidently—negotiate. Wolper is the president of Emens & Wolper Law where she practices with an emphasis on family-owned business and women business owners; estate planning and wealth transfer; outside general counsel to privately held businesses; oil and gas law and acquisitions. She is listed in “Best Lawyers in America” in the Corporate Law category.
