5th Annual Digfest: Soaked up the fun! A bit drippy, but a lot of fun. That pretty much sums up the annual Digfest (Drinks In Grandview) celebration that took place on Saturday, June 13. “You can plan your heart out, add more vendors, increase attractions and more, but it all depends on Mother Nature.” Michelle Wilson, Executive Director of the Grandview Area Chamber said. The event takes four months to plan and execute, and it has made up a large part of the Chamber’s annual budget for the past three of its five years. “We’ve had perfect weather every year until now, so I guess it was just our turn for a little rain.” Despite the sporadic downpours and lack of any music or video, the crowds at Digfest were AMAZING. They stuck it out, took shelter under tents, and made the best of a less-than-perfect situation. Michelle Wilson noted that there were approximately 4,000 that weathered the storm, so to speak, and they were on course for a record attendance had the sun stayed a little longer. She is grateful to the patrons, vendors and sponsors of the event and feels confident it will continue to grow. She also mentioned that she’s put in an order for perfect weather for Digfest 2016.
