There are moments in history when a group of individuals/ organizations coalesce and create innovative solutions to some of our community’s most significant challenges. That’s the story behind Maryhaven’s Addiction Stabilization Center and the impact it’s having on people struggling with addiction. First, we saw a problem: A lack of in-patient beds was feeding a devastating downward cycle. Treatment must be available when someone decides to seek help or they may retreat back into their disease. Next, the idea: Convert an old hospital on the South Side into a 55-bed facility to specifically treat and stabilize people in crisis until long-term care becomes available. Then a group of community leaders stepped up and gave Maryhaven the resources and guidance needed to design and build the center in seven months. Since its opening on Jan. 19, 2018, the center has served nearly 900 people; 86 percent of these patients have chosen to enter long-term treatment. Faces of Columbus Business l ColumbusCEO

Chornyak, Sr., CFP® - Managing Partner Shortcuts don’t lead to the best financial planning, and that’s why Chornyak & Associates doesn’t use them. Developed over 40 years, Chornyak uses proprietary processes and systems to research, analyze, select and monitor recommended investments. With a thorough understanding of each client’s financial picture, Chornyak builds comprehensive planning strategies to help achieve their dreams. It takes more time to ask lots of questions, gather detailed information and act as a true partner, but Chornyak believes that’s the best way to be sure every financial decision supports their clients’ goals and desires with broad diversification and proper investment allocation. This disciplined approach is based on one simple belief: investors rarely reap above-average returns by taking unnecessary risks. Chornyak manages close to $900 million in assets for almost 1,000 individuals and businesses nationwide.
