Steve Norden Named Grand Leprechaun of City of Dublin St. Patrick’s Day Parade City of Dublin Police Chaplain and Reverend of New Hope Church to Preside Over Dublin’s Regional Event Long-time resident, Reverend, and Chaplain Steve Norden will lead Dublin’s Greenest, Grandest St. Patrick’s Day Parade as the 2019 Grand Leprechaun on Saturday, March 16. Steve moved to Dublin in 1984 with his wife Jean, and became a founding pastor of New Hope Church in Powell. They have three sons; Billy, Charlie, and Pieter, all graduates of Dublin Scioto High School. Steve has served the City of Dublin Police Department as volunteer Chaplain since 1990 and the Federal Bureau of Investigation since 2012. In 2017, the International Conference of Police Chaplains recognized him with the John A. Price Award for Excellence in Law Enforcement Chaplaincy. In addition, he has been a champion for Dublin City Schools in multiple capacities, serving on nearly every bond levy committee in recent years. In the fall of 1984, he began serving as the Voice of Dublin Shamrock football and continued in that role for ten years. Since 1995, he has been the voice of Dublin Scioto Irish football.
In his nomination of Steve, City of Dublin Police Chief Heinz von Eckartsberg said, “Steve has been, and continues to be a strong and professional advocate for police chaplaincy in the state. I believe that his service to our community through his role as a police chaplain, senior pastor and volunteer with Dublin Schools makes him an ideal candidate for this year’s Grand Leprechaun.

Outdoor and indoor decor unite at Oakland Nursery Home Looking back, we remember when the Oakland Nursery HOME Store was just an idea and are honored to have transformed the vision of the HOME store into a successful reality. It has been a pleasure to welcome new ideas, broaden the horizons, and to introduce concepts that live outside the box. In 1940, Oakland Nursery planted its roots as a plant nursery and garden center. Over time, the company expanded into multiple locations, offering numerous specialty services, and even began stocking small gift and interior decor items. Due to popular demand, our gift sections continued to grow throughout the company. Our customers enjoyed the convenience of finding their outdoor and indoor decorative needs in one spot. At the Dublin, Ohio location, the wheels began to turn…why stop at just gifts? We
have successfully expanded our garden centers, why not expand our interior decor offerings? That’s where Oakland Nursery HOME comes in. We are in the business of creating atmospheres to help you craft the living space of your dreams; one that allows you to relax, recharge, and get back out into the crazy world. The outdoors and the indoors unite and work together at Oakland Nursery Dublin and Oakland Nursery HOME. The knowledgeable nursery staff will assist in generating your ideal outdoor space while our HOME store crew can help create the ultimate feeling of home inside. We look at your home as one cohesive space that is intertwined. Our goal is provide clarity, creative ideas, and inspiration for our customers, allowing them to discover the true feeling of their HOME.
