OhioHealth invests in health of Upper Arlington with new facility The old saying goes, “good things come to those who wait.” So you can imagine the excitement in January for OhioHealth when a brand new chapter in Upper Arlington came sooner than expected. The OhioHealth Upper Arlington Medical Office Building finished six weeks ahead of schedule, and is ready to offer families what they are looking for; high quality care, close to home. This new facility, located at 3363 Tremont Road, is home to primary care offices, newly relocated neurological rehabilitation and lab services. The building is 25,000 square feet, with an investment by OhioHealth into the Upper Arlington community of $3.4 million dollars. And while the building is certainly great, it’s the people inside that will truly make a difference for families. This OhioHealth team couldn’t be more excited about the location, and is committed to being a critical part of the community for years to come. “The Upper Arlington Medical Office Building will serve two purposes for the community,” said Hugh Thornhill, president of OhioHealth Physician Group. “First, it provides growth space for primary care physician services. This creates improved access for community members to receive vital primary care close to home. Second, it allows us to expand our neurological rehabilitation program, which has experienced significant growth as a result of our nationally recognized neuroscience program at OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital.”
Primary Care
The new building will not only mean services close to home for you, but very close to home for a couple of brothers, both returning home to practice in Upper Arlington. Primary care physicians David DeWalt, DO, and Mark DeWalt, DO, will proudly see patients at the Upper Arlington Medical Office Building. “We grew up in Upper Arlington, and I live here today,” said David DeWalt. “We started in practice years ago in
this community and are thrilled to be back. It feels really good to be providing quality, convenient health care right here in UA.” “Many of our patients currently travel from Upper Arlington and now we are able to provide them with a location closer to where they live,” said Mark DeWalt. “We are really enjoying serving them and meeting new patients from UA and its surrounding communities.”
MDVIP
The care doesn’t stop there. In addition, OhioHealth and OhioHealth family medicine physician Richard J. Seidt II, MD, have affiliated with MDVIP, the leader in personalized health care, to offer a new option for primary care. With a focus on personalized prevention and wellness, MDVIP is a unique approach to primary care that allows OhioHealth and Dr. Seidt to expand the medical resources available to patients. Each patient who enrolls in the practice will receive a comprehensive health risk assessment and annual wellness program with advanced screenings, diagnostic tests and a customized action plan addressing key areas from heart health, nutrition and fitness to emotional well-being and management of chronic illness. There is an annual fee for the extensive wellness program, which includes preventive services not covered by most health insurance plans.
Express Appointment Center
When you’re sick, or want to see a doctor, the last thing you want to do is wait. If your OhioHealth primary care physician isn’t available, the Express Appointment Center at the Upper Arlington Medical Office Building could be perfect for you. The Center offers same-day appointments for established patients of OhioHealth Primary Care Physicians (OPG) Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.
And the Express Appointment Center isn’t just for when you or your family is sick. From last-minute sports physicals, that rash right before a big vacation, a twisted ankle that got worse from the day before, or if need your flu shot, the OhioHealth Express Appointment Center is there. Same great care, right when you need it, and close to home.
Neurological Rehabilitation Services
OhioHealth has seen tremendous success and growth at the OhioHealth Neuroscience Center at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Patients with multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, those that have suffered a stroke, and others with neurological disorders are getting highquality care at the Neuroscience Center. Now they have a new convenient location with a talented team for outpatient neurological rehabilitation services, and less than two miles from the OhioHealth Neuroscience Center. The state-of-the-art facility features an overhead physical therapy harness track system, a functional home, gaming and vision training technology, dizziness and vertigo treatment tools, private speech therapy and swallow treatment offices and more. “We couldn’t be more excited about what this new facility means to the rehabilitation teams, our patients and their families,” said David Rupp, OhioHealth Director of Neurological Rehabilitation Services. “We had outgrown the space at our old location. Now, we have a new state-of-theart facility matching the incredible talents of our therapy team. Our physical, occupational and speech therapists work so hard to get the very best outcomes for our patients. This new facility, and the technological advancements built into the space, allows for outstanding OhioHealth neurological care close to home.” Patients come in for a series of therapy visits, typically two to three times each week. Working directly with a therapist who will be working
in collaboration with the referring physician, each patient gets his or her own personal plan. That plan will help determine the frequency and duration of therapy sessions. Here are just a few therapy options neurological patients can find at the Upper Arlington facility.
Speech Therapy
Therapists are trained in a variety of techniques to treat speech disorders, including difficulty with memory and other cognitive abilities. Team members work with patients on difficulty with speech and language, stuttering, difficulty swallowing as well as mouth and facial weakness.
Occupational Therapists Therapists help patients relearn daily tasks and provide them with new strategies to achieve personal goals, often addressing impairments in vision, cognition, mobility and coordination. Treatment often includes functional activities intended to help patients return to independence in self-care, homemaking, community tasks, work, school and driving.
Social Services
An essential part of the multidisciplinary team, social workers provide support and help educate patients on various programs and services available to assist them at OhioHealth and in the community. Patients are linked to services that meet their individual needs related to emotional support, financial assistance, home modification and support and programs geared towards community re-entry. From primary care with local doctors, personalized prevention and wellness plans with an industry leader, and state-of-the-art neurological rehabilitation services, the Upper Arlington Medical Office Building and the OhioHealth teams are ready to meet whatever you need, close to where you live.

Arlington Urgent Care thanks the community as it celebrates five years and expansion in 2016 Thanks, in part to this support, they were able to expand in 2016 to include two additional clinics in the Columbus area. Bexley Urgent Care, which opened in September 2016, is a 4,200-square-foot facility located in the Bexley Square Shopping Center at Main Street and College Ave. Worthington Urgent Care, which opened in December 2016, is a 3,800-square-foot facility located in the newly constructed Linworth Shopping Plaza at the corners of Linworth Road and Dublin-Granville Rd/Rte. 161. Both clinics offer the same high level of medical care as Arlington Urgent Care and remain the state’s only Accredited Urgent Care facilities, the highest level of distinction for urgent care
Arlington Urgent Care thanks the members of the UA community for their continued support over the past five plus years of service. The healthcare environment is changing, and it is becoming more and more important for patients to understand their treatment options. “Without the support of the amazing Upper Arlington community we would not have been as successful as we are today. This success has allowed us to expand and offer our top-rated services to other communities in central Ohio. Our hearts will always be in UA, but we look forward to providing much needed medical care to the Bexley and Worthington locations as well,” said Molly Fulton, practice manager for Arlington Urgent Care, Inc.
centers. When a medical condition cannot be handled by a patient’s regular doctor — such as unexpected cuts, burns, sprains or fractures that do not require a visit to the emergency department, Arlington Urgent Care’s urgent care centers are equipped with x-ray, laboratory services and licensed providers are always available to perform minor procedures like casting and suturing. Arlington Urgent Care is a family-run business and remains dedicated to providing high-quality medical care to all communities it serves. They provide patients with walk-in, extended-hour medical attention with licensed providers for a large scope of medical conditions and have met all of the Urgent Care Association of America’s
established standards and criteria for quality of patient care, safety, and scope of services. Urgent care is a convenient and viable option for medical conditions that cannot wait for a scheduled appointment with a primary care physician. Arlington Urgent Care is open seven days a week and accepts unscheduled, walk-in patients during all hours of operation. Treatments include: • Colds, coughs, and sore throats • Minor cuts and abrasions; burns, rashes and insect bites • Strains and sprains • Physicals • Fluid administration (IVs) • X-rays, breathing treatments, stitches and suturing • Work related injuries
