The Eighth Annual Cat Caper 5K walk/ run will be held at the Ohio Center for Autism and Low Incidence (OCALI) in the Ravine district of Clintonville (470 Glenmont Avenue) on Sunday, September 30, 2012.

Since 1982 the Clintonville Homes Tour has been one of our community’s great traditions and an opportunity to welcome visitors to tour some of our greatest homes and enjoy our neighborhood. The 2012 event takes place on Sunday, September 9, from 1 to 4 p.m.

The theme of this year’s tour is The Historic and Architectural Diversity of Clintonville. Homes featured on the tour will highlight extensive renovations and additions, and a variety of styles.

In addition, many of the homes will share rich historical backstories of the property and the surrounding area.

“We are very excited about this year’s tour as it marks the 30th anniversary of the event,” said Kristina Ross, event co-chair.

“In conjunction with Clintonville’s 165th anniversary and some other events going on the same weekend, it’s going to be a great weekend to highlight our community.”

Homes on the tour fall within or close to the original historical boundaries for Clintonville, which span several blocks from Weber Road on the south end to Torrence Road on the north. Because the tour will not be completely walkable, a trolley service will shuttle patrons between homes. Stops along the High Street corridor will also allow local merchants to be explored and

other parts of the community enjoyed.

The Clintonville Homes Tour is run by volunteers from the community under the direction of the Clintonville Community Fund. Through the generous support of tour sponsors, all proceeds from the sale of tickets will go into the Clintonville Community Fund. In turn, the CCF makes grants to Clintonville organizations for a variety of charitable activities in the areas of arts and humanities, conservation, education, health, social services, and urban affairs.

Chamber sets Cruise the Ville’ for Saturday, Aug. 18

The Clintonville Area Chamber of Commerce is a membership organization of businesses and residents in the Clintonville/Beechwold area. It has been in existence for 17 years. The founding members intended for the Chamber to be the business and information center for the community and that is exactly what it has become.
