One BIG festival, two GREAT locations The Arnold Sports Festival will make history in 2015 when it expands into the Ohio Expo Center, becoming the first major event in Columbus to fill the city’s two largest convention facilities.

The Greater Columbus Convention Center, home of the Arnold Sports Festival since 2000, will continue to be the focus of activities in Downtown Columbus. The Arnold Fitness EXPO will feature more than 900 booths featuring the latest in sports nutrition, equipment and apparel.

The Arnold Fitness EXPO stage features three days of competitions and demonstrations, including the Arnold Strongman Classic, Arnold Amateur Strongman World Championships, the Arnold Amateur Bodybuilding Finals and the Arnold Armwrestling Challenge.

New in 2015, the WWE Experience will take over Hall C at the Greater Columbus Convention Center on Saturday, March 7, and Sunday, March 8. The event will feature live matches, autograph signings, Q&A sessions and live tryouts.

The Arnold Classic and other IFBB Pro League events that traditionally were held at Franklin County Veterans Memorial will move to the Battelle Grand at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.

With the closing of Veterans Memorial, a variety of sports and events will move to the Ohio Expo Center in 2015, including archery, cheerleading and dance, CrossFit Endeavor, table tennis and XPC Powerlifting.

The sports and events at the Ohio Expo Center will center around the new Arnold Kids Fitness EXPO, which will be held in the Bricker Building. The Kids Fitness EXPO will feature demonstration areas showcasing the Columbus Blue Jackets, Columbus Crew, Ohio Machine and many others. The event will also feature a stage with two days of entertainment, demonstrations and competitions, along with more than 100 vendor booths.

Jackson aims for record fifth Arnold Classic title Dexter Jackson of Jacksonville, Fla., a four-time winner of the Arnold Classic, will look to make history by winning a record fifth title at the 2015 Arnold Classic.

The 2015 Arnold Sports Festival will feature a record seven IFBB Pro League events, as the Arnold Classic Physique and Physique International will join a lineup that already includes the Arnold Classic, Arnold Classic 212, Fitness International, Figure International and Bikini International.

Jackson, who won in Columbus in 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2013, will be aiming for the record-breaking fifth title after not competing here in 2014.

Flex Wheeler with four Arnold Classic titles each. Branch Warren, who won the Arnold Classic in 2011 and 2012, will also compete, as will Brandon Curry, who won the inaugural Arnold Classic Brasil in 2013.

Arnold Classic and Bikini International prejudging will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, at the Battelle Grand, with the Arnold Classic and Bikini Finals set for 7 p.m. on Saturday at Battelle Grand.

The Saturday night event also features the final event of the Arnold Strongman Classic.

Tickets to the finals are $50 and $100 and are available at the door.

Arnold Classic 212, Fitness International and Figure International prejudging will

be held on the Arnold Fitness EXPO Stage on Friday, March 6, with Finals set for 7 p.m. on Friday, March 6, at the Battelle Grand. The event also includes the Pole Fitness National Championship (PCS Championship) at 9:30 p.m.

Tickets to the Arnold Classic 212, Fitness International and Figure International Finals are $50 and $75 and include the Pole Fitness National Championship.

Prejudging and Finals for the Arnold Classic Physique and Physique International competitions will be held at noon on Friday, March 6, on the Arnold Fitness EXPO Stage.

The professional divisions for men’s physique and women’s physique are new in 2015.

The WWE Experience will be held from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 8, in Hall C of the Greater Columbus Convention Center. Admission is included in a Daily EXPO Ticket.

Arnold Kids Fitness EXPO highlights Ohio Expo Center expansion

The new Arnold Kids Fitness EXPO at the Ohio Expo Center will offer children and adults the opportunity to try a variety of sports and activities, all under one roof.

The Arnold Kids Fitness EXPO will feature demonstrations and hands-on activities by the Columbus Blue Jackets (hockey), Columbus Clippers (baseball), Columbus Crew (soccer), Ohio Machine (lacrosse), Royal Arts Fencing Academy and Cyclone Gymnastics.

Other demonstration areas will feature the Ohio State Chess Club, World Jump Rope, the United States Tennis Association, Skyhawks Golf, Arnold Martial Arts and the Spartan Race. BuckIcon will host an area featuring former Ohio State football players.

“We created the Arnold Kids Fitness EXPO to give parents an opportunity to allow their children to experience a wide variety of sports in one location,” said Jim Lorimer, who has partnered with former Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to present the Arnold Sports Festival since 1989. “We want children to come in, try many sports and hopefully find one they wish to pursue further.”

The Arnold Kids Fitness EXPO — which will be open from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 8 — will also feature a stage with continuous demonstrations, entertainment and competitions.

Among the highlights on the stage will be the Arnold’s Quest For Talent! presented by Columbus Children’s Theatre talent show finals at 1 p.m. on Saturday. The Arnold’s Quest For Talent! finals will be hosted by ’N SYNC’s Chris Kirkpatrick.

At 3 p.m. on Saturday on the Arnold Kids Fitness EXPO stage, the first-ever Arnold Chess Challenge will feature Schwarzenegger against Emma Chang, an 8-year-old prodigy from Dublin.

Among the highlights on the Arnold Kids Fitness EXPO stage on Sunday include World Jump Rope’s U.S. Double Dutch Championship at 10 a.m.

Ohio Expo Center to host 10 Arnold Sports Festival events events in a sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis and table tennis.
