Congratulations to this year’s best of the best Central Ohio, you never cease to amaze me. When we put out a call, you answer! Near the end of the summer, we launched the second-annual Dispatch CBUS Top Picks to determine the best the city has to offer across a wide spectrum of categories. We asked you to hop on your computers and phones to nominate your favorite favorites in more than 100 categories to become Top Picks finalists. Once those finalists were determined — and I can appreciate the fierce loyalties many of you made clear — we opened the virtual polls back up once again to determine the three Top Picks, including the overall #1 Top Picks, who were unveiled during our Dec. 7 awards celebration at St. Charles Preparatory School. Wow, did you make your voices heard! In all, more than 18,000 of you voted, more than 168,000 votes
were cast and 117 #1 top picks were named. Inside this section is the fruit of all that labor — the top three (and the #1’s) in all categories. One of the goals of these awards is round up the best of the best in Columbus in one handy place (in addition to this section, CBUS Top Picks from this year will live on at CBUSTopPicks.com). But another thing we envisioned these awards doing from the start was give readers like you new options to think about. Maybe, for example, you’re not thrilled with where you have your car’s oil changed. Well, three companies that will be happy to serve you — and are apparently highly thought of by CBUS Top Picks voters — are inside these pages. So take a look at this section and keep it nearby for go-to’s that are beloved by your fellow central Ohioans. Who knows? Maybe next year you’ll be voting for some of these Top Picks yourself.
