Explore the world of small business The 8th annual Small Business Convention (SBC) presented by COSE and the Hilliard Area Chamber of Commerce, October 24–25 at Kalahari Convention Center, Sandusky, Ohio, is the premier event for small business professionals and entrepreneurs in the Midwest. Assist your chamber and meet others by volunteering! The largest craft show in our area, the 31st Annual Hollyfest Arts and Crafts Show, will take place on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Hilliard Davidson High School with 118 crafters participating. With the scope of this large event we need volunteers! The work

entails working setup on Friday morning, Dec. 6, Friday evening Dec. 6, and various duties during the day on Saturday, Dec. 7. From parking to admissions and also assisting crafters, there are many opportunities that we have for you to give a couple hours of your time. We have

Get your picture taken at the Great Wall! Chamber President/ CEO Libby Gierach and her daughter experienced the trip of a lifetime by going on a trip to China two years ago. Have you wanted to see the wonders of China? Join Libby on the Hilliard Chamber’s upcoming trip to China from March 22-30, 2014. This trip is open to anyone so you may travel with your friends or relatives from around the country. At our last information night we had 30 people attend to know more about our trip to China from March 22-30, 2014. We have many people now signed up to go and see the cities of Beijing, Suzhou, Hangzhou and Shanghai! We will be having another information night on Tuesday, Oct. 15

from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Heritage Golf Club, 3525 Heritage Club Drive. The cost for the trip is $2,400 for members and $2,600 for non-members, based on double occupancy. We have people coming

from Texas, Florida and other states to join their friends from here to go on the trip with them. Feel free to share this with your friends and family.

October Chamber Luncheon

U.S. Congressman Steve Stivers to speak What is going on in Washington DC? What are the issues that are critical to your business? We are pleased to have our United States Congressman Steve Stivers come to our October 18 luncheon to tell us. Congressman Stivers will give us an overview of the hot topics as well as answer your questions. If you have specific Steve Stivers questions, feel free to pass them along if you would like. The luncheon will be held at Heritage Golf Club, 3525 Heritage Club Drive. Please RSVP via www. hilliardchamber.org or by calling the Chamber office at (614) 876-7666. We ask for payment at the time you make your reservation. The cost is $18 for members and $21 for potential members and guests.

Community Calendar adds value The events that are happening in our area are getting posted to the Community Calendar on our website! Do you have a seminar, event, fundraiser, etc. that can be shared with others in our community? Do you know others who are involved in non-profits who can also benefit?
