Nominations accepted through May 31 for Renai Award The mission statement for Hilliard Women in Business: Women dedicated to the inspiration, education, support and celebration of the personal and professional success of other business women. The Renaissance is a period in time which has been known for its great intellectual, social and artistic pursuits. Taken literally, it was a time of rebirth. It has given his-

tory some of its greatest minds and contributions in many fields, which are still being felt 500 years later. In today’s ever-changing world, we feel that the contributions of women in business exemplify the multifaceted talents and interests of many of those figures. The talents necessary to achieve success within the workplace, making positive contributions to the

communities we serve and maintaining balance within our lives are far more difficult than at any point in history. As such, we would like to accept nominations for the Renai Award. The qualified candidate will be in her current business or industry for a minimum of two years, has a history of giving back to the Hilliard community and be a member of the Hilliard Area Chamber of

Commerce. The selection committee will also be looking for any recognitions or awards she has received related to her business or industry. Nominations must be sent to the Hilliard Area Chamber of Commerce by May 31, 2013. The award presentation will take place at our June 19 luncheon. Save the Date: June 19 We have been having excellent attendance at our Hilliard Women in Business meetings. Put June 19 on your calendar to attend the next meeting as more details will follow in the June newsletter. We will be announcing the winner of our Renai Award at this meeting.

Tee It UP on June 17!

Have you ever wanted to play Heritage Golf Club? Now is your chance to play in a scramble format golf outing at this private club! Bring your clubs, clients, friends, family, etc to play in this fun outing! Each year we have a great group of people who come to play this Pete Dye designed course. Lunch and a buffet grilled dinner will be provided in addition to great skill holes to win prizes. There will also be a Bloody Mary and shrimp station. The Hilliard Area Chamber of Commerce and the Columbus Young Professionals Club (CYP CLUB) are collaborating to find the Best Places to Work for Young Professionals in and around Columbus. We are enlisting the help of the 18,000+ YP members and our various Columbus networks to fill out a brief nomination survey and assist the selection review committee. It should take no longer than five minutes to complete and consists of eight required questions and one optional question. The survey will close at 6 p.m. on May 9, 2013. On Friday, May 17, please join us for lunch at 11:30 a.m. at the Heritage Golf Club. Keith Lake, Vice President, Government Affairs at Ohio Chamber of Commerce, will be our speaker to share the impact of Governor Kasich’s proposed budget on businesses. House Bill 59 (HB 59) is the legislation for Ohio’s state budget for the 2014 and 2015 fiscal years. It represents Gov. John Kasich’s proposed state budget for the next two years. The bill proposes to reduce
