A Taste of Grove City & Business Expo successful in its 5th year Food and business vendors alike were able to showcase their excellent products to the community at this year’s Taste of Grove City and Business Expo. Thank you to our sponsors, Telhio Credit Union and Your Neighborhood Networking Group. More than 700 people attended the event, which raised more than $2,500 for the Grove City Food Pantry. The answer is through SouthWestern City School District’s Career-Technical programs. Career-Technical programs prepare students with skill sets to enter today’s workforce ready to succeed and advance in their chosen career field. Students enrolled in the Accounting and Finance, Automotive, Business and Administrative Services, Construction Technologies, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Dental Assisting, Early Child-
hood Education, Health Technologies, Interactive Media Design, Marketing Technology, Materials Joining, Pre-Engineering, Public Relations and Event Management Career-Technical programs have the opportunity to earn college credits with Columbus State Community College while participating in high school programs. Career-Technical Education in the SouthWestern City School District provides students the best of both worlds— preparation for the workforce and the ability to earn college credits at the same time.

Plant bulbs for 2014 now
Dr. Scot Chiropractic welcomes new patients Anyone’s first time at a chiropractors office could seem like a scary experience. If you don’t know what you are headed into, you might be skeptical. But after stepping one foot into Dr. Scot Gircsis’s office, you will feel right at home. Dr. Scot’s new office in Grove City is located at 2600 Columbus St. and he is always welcoming new patients. He specializes in personal injury and workers’ compensation as well as sports rehabilitation. After 17 years in business, he encourages everyone to try chiropractic care. “I am just like a doctor; I can do everything that they can do. I can be your primary care physician,” Gircsis said. The atmosphere of his office is comfortable and friendly and everyone who comes in feels like part of the family. A quick stop in the waiting room is followed by time on their state of the art tables. After that, each patient receives personalized treatment from Dr. Scot. Lori Fearing, who has been his office assistant

Nothing says “spring” more beautifully than daffodils, crocus, hyacinths and other bulbs that blossom at this time of the year. So start planning for spring 2014 — now. Take photos of your borders and beds during the next few weeks. Use the photos as a guide for filling bare places with bulbs this fall. Refer to them to avoid digging into bulbs when planting new flowers, shrubs and trees. As for planting the spring garden, don’t rush. Tomatoes and peppers are tropical plants that resent cold soil almost as much as they do frost. Wait until about mid-May, generally considered frost-free in central Ohio. Cool season crops, however, such as cabbage, lettuce, potatoes, won’t mind nippy air. Check soil conditions before planting. Take a handful of garden soil and gently squeeze it into a ball. Drop the ball on the ground. If it crumbles, dig in. If not, go tune the lawn mower, clean tools, prune off broken and dead wood from shrubs, and plant pansies in containers for a quick color fix.
