April 18 Chamber Luncheon The April 18 luncheon will feature Ohio Machine President and General Manager John Algie. Ohio’s Major League Lacrosse team since 2012. The Machine’s mission is to strive for the highest level of competitiveness on the lacrosse field while fostering the growth of the sport throughout the state of Ohio by taking an active interest in the development of youth players and lacrosse programs across the state. On the field, the Machine’s roster is bolstered by two three former Tewaaraton Award winners, two former first overall draft picks and three members of the 2014 OFFICERS Chair: Shawn McCabe, McCabe PrintWorks Vice Chair: Don Nixon, Creative Spot Treasurer: Keith Lewis, Jones, Cochenour & Co. Team USA. Off the field, the Machine is dedicated to growing the game of lacrosse in Ohio and beyond by way of sponsorships of events, donated tickets, autographed merchandise and volunteer hours at camps and clinics. In 2014 the Machine begins its third season. The Machine plays its home games at Selby Stadium on the campus of Ohio Wesleyan University. OhioHealth Business After Hours April 17 Come and connect with business leaders! We are pleased to announce a multi-chamber connection event with OhioHealth Doctors Hospital, 5100 W. Broad Street, on Thursday, April 17. Come and connect with other businesses in central Ohio from the Columbus and Grove City Chambers of Commerce. You do not have to be a member to attend, but we ask you to RSVP for planning purposes. Please join OhioHealth as we reflect on the last 50 years and learn about their exciting plans for the future. Hard hat tours of our surgery renovation and opportunities to explore their Simulation Lab will be available. Chamber Members recognized at Annual Meeting Two chamber businesses and a chamber member were honored at last month’s annual meeting luncheon. JC & Co. was presented the 2014 Established Business award. JC & Co. has been a supportive community business and just this year became involved in the Career Mentorship Program coordinated through the Hilliard City Schools. Kitamu Coffee is the 2014 Emerging Business award winner. They began holding open mic nights for musicians of all types and often have visitors from outside of Columbus due to their large social media followers and word of mouth marketing. Timothy Payne of Edward Jones was honored as Most Involved Chamber Volunteer. He is actively involved in the Chamber’s Membership Committee and assisted with many events such as new member breakfasts, the Taste of Hilliard & Business Expo and the Hollyfest Arts & Crafts Show. He is always willing to put forth his time and talents into the chamber as he believes in the value of the chamber to the business and Hilliard community. The Hilliard Area Chamber of Commerce congratulates these deserving members on their accomplishments. We would also like to thank Allied Sources for the fabulous video production of our award winners and the pictures of the year in review of the chamber!
