Spring is officially here, warm weather is on the way and we are excited about these upcoming outdoor events! Farmers’ Market

From fresh-cut flowers to juicy peaches to just picked tomatoes and sweet corn on the cob, the annual Grove City Farmers’ Market offers local residents the best of summer’s harvest. For more than 20 years, area farmers have partnered with the Grove City Area Chamber of Commerce to bring the taste of summer to the streets of the downtown Grove City. This year, more than 30 licensed vendors will participate, rain or shine, from 8 a.m. to noon every Saturday, July through mid-September. In addition to fresh, homegrown produce, homemade jellies, baked goods and confections, the Grove City Area Chamber of Commerce presents a free Family Fun Day with live entertainment, balloon creations and other family-friendly outdoor activities. The market will run for ten weeks this year beginning Saturday, July 13 and ending Saturday, September 14 from 8 a.m. to noon. Family Fun Day will be on July 20.

Harrison College launches free career assessment tool to the public Questionnaire takes 10-15 minutes to complete; identifies careers that match user’s interests Harrison College (www.harrison.edu), a higher education institution serving more than 5,000 students at 14 campuses, including their location in Grove City, has launched a career assessment tool designed to assist people with identifying careers that match their interests and personalities. The

career assessment tool is available to the public free of charge. The career assessment tool is a multiple choice questionnaire that takes about 10-15 minutes to complete. Upon completion, users receive a report that identifies careers that best fit their interests and personalities, average salaries for those careers and programs of study that can lead to employment in those careers. Harrison College, which has provided

career-focused education since 1902, has seen a rise in the number of adults returning to college during the economic downturn in an effort to improve their prospects in an increasingly competitive job market. “Many displaced workers are coming to the realization that they may have to change careers to find employment, but they aren’t sure what they want to do or what they might be good at,” Jason Konesco, Harrison College President, said.
