Come ask questions of the six candidates who wish to be elected to Hilliard City Council. This Q & A will take place Thursday, April 18 at the Norwich Township Safety Services Building, 5181 Northwest Parkway at 7 p.m. This is an important election as four of the seven council seats are going to be filled. The people running for the office are: Tom Baker, Marc Barraco, Les Carrier, Brian Katz, Kelly McGivern, and Bill Uttley. It is important for businesses and residents to attend so that they may hear the views of those wanting to represent them for the next four years.

The public will be writing their questions on cards and they will pass through a screening panel for redundancy and appropriateness. Each candidate will answer each question posed. There will be opening and closing statements as well. There will be an Open House after the forum so that you can personally meet the candidates. The Hilliard Chamber has sponsored Candidates Nights for over 20 years and has been involved in other Candidates Forums for the Governor for the State of Ohio and United States Congress elections.

We have some upcoming events which need volunteers to make them run smoothly. The Golf Outing will be on Monday, June 17 at Heritage Golf Club and we need people to assist with the preparations and also the day of the event. The Taste of Hilliard & Business Expo which will be held at the Makoy Center on Wednesday, August 14, also needs members on its committee. The responsibilities include help plan the event, following up with our sponsors, distributing materials, etc. A committee meeting will be held on Thursday, March 21 at the Chamber office starting at noon. Lunch will be provided. Both of these committees are great ways for chamber members to network with others in a smaller environment while helping the chamber execute fun events!
